Did you actually watch the game tonight!?! Crouch was our best player by a country mile. He took his goal brilliantly and worked tirelessly all night, kept posession of the ball while others around him squandered it, won a billion headers and all this while the fouling Israelis kicked the out of him for 90 minutes.

As for the game it's a shame it wasn't on Sky because i would have loved to have seen how many fouls they committed. The ref was weak and should have booked a good few for persistent fouling. I thought the performance was a bit sketchy but it was always going to be tricky without the 2 leaders of the team (Carra, Stevie) missing. It was good to see Xabi back to something close to his best, Gonzalez agin showed flashes of raw talent, Finnan had a solid game and i was impressed with Aurelio when he came on (i'm surprised to see a Brazilian player get stuck in battle the way he does.)

I think we may suffer on Saturday (can't believe we're scheduled to play early again) for this but it will be worth it.

I've just said to Dalglish via PM that the bitters will focus on the new lads, and that I hope Momo, JC and Riise are back in contention.

I think Gonzalez will struggle if he has to play 90 minutes against thoe dirty, cheating b*stards.
