LIVERPOOL VS MACCABI HAIFA - Part 2

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby davo_LFC » Tue Aug 22, 2006 9:52 pm

Not the greatest of performances but job well done they hardly threatened at all apart from the reina save, their goal came from nothing. The main thing is that we are through, and on another day garcia would have had a hat-trick. This game is out the way now, the cash is no longer an issue and we can concentrate on playing for trophies. I expect us to be firing on all cylinders in the coming games. :D The injury to momo is another kick in the railings coz he is a key player for us.

Dont look into tonights performance too much, the pitch looked very slow and it was a typical get the job done game and thats the main thing. We would have all liked a convincing win but we are in the tourno proper now and thats all that counts.

Well, for those of us unfortunate overseas fans that can get neither tv coverage nor radio coverage of the match and thus rely on the internet to update us, I'll tell you that the people on here who take the time to post match progress are worth their weight in gold.  Commentary on any goals, injuries or cards is always faster on here than on the usual footy pages' web updates plus you get a sense of how the lads are doing.  Sad?  Not at all.

Indeed. Today I couldn't wait to download the match later, I had to read your comments. Thanks to everybody.

BTW Sabre, I see Fernando Morientes has scored for Valencia tonight.

Could have been a walkover if Garcia had been blessed with a bit more luck .

Are you all so obsessed with this website that you cannot log off for 90 mins and watch the match! ?

Sad

i think that the fans of liverpool should give haifa the respect and the credit after that they say that it's a weak team, and i dont want to talk about why the game wasn't in israel beause thats now is from the past. anyway i hope that liverpool succeed at the champions league and please defeat chelsea again.

Where are you based Bob?

I'm "across the pond" in Canada, mate.  Our sports stations provide the Saturday Premiership fixtures (nothing on Sundays) but don't show any CL until the semi-finals!  It's aggrevating as hell and so I rely on the net to get the jist of what's going on.  Thanks to you and other posters on here, I can feel my blood pressure spike to unhealthy levels just like the rest of you!  Of course, if people would like to elaborate a bit more on their match update posts, I wouldn't complain!  :D

Only going by listening to the match on the radio, but it seemed a pretty efficient performance by the lads. Not to many scares from them and a few chances for us.

The result was of course the most important thing tonight and it's now job done ,get home for West Ham and look forward to the group stages of the cl with a bit more dosh in the bank.

P'iss off , in my book the "Green Monkeys" are the worst set of "fans" we've ever had on this site . Now that we've put you and your team in your place (the dustbin') don't come in here and expect us to tell you how good your team really is .

You're shi'te and I'm more than happy to see you flushed down history's toilet.

I think we will score in the first half and have a fairly comfortable night. I know we have struggled in the last 2 seasons at this stage, but I just cant see it happening this time round because were a much more rounded and experienced squad of players with plenty of players who can play on the big occasion.

I’m going for a fairly comfortable 3-0.

Hmmmmmmmm.....................................

What are you "Hmmmm'in" about? You got your prediction wrong.  ???

Precisely.

P.S. Look at my next post.
