LIVERPOOL VS BORDEAUX PART II

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Great result, quite good performance.....i, like many others am happy that SG finally broke his duck and you could see what it meant for him. During the 1st half i didn't think we were playing brilliant football but we looked calm, which is something i missed from watching us, we weren't putting our heads down and making stupid passes we just kept plugging away and trying until we finally broke through with a great strike from Garcia.
We weathered the storm early in the second half, and were great when that :censored: got sent off. I still see some worrying signs in our defence but im happy with the way we defended overall, they weren't the greatest of sides anyway.....
Got the feeling it wasn't stevie's day after he missed two great opportunities but he took the 3rd one and the Garcia goal put the icing on the cake...

Great day, and hope we can continue this good run on the weekend against Reading, but more importantly away to Arsenal.....i think that would really give us a boost.

:O

Great result, especially Gerrard breaking his goal duck this season. I did not think that our performance was really that good as compared to the Villa game but the most important thing is to win.

Praise to JAR also for not resorting to any elaborate over the top injury display despite getting cut by that head butt. I was switching to the other channel at times to see Barca-Chelsea and it was littered by play acting from both teams, so much so that the ref was not able to get much of a hold on the match. These Barca and Chelski players are good enough to have an alternative careers as actors...

Barca just haven't been the same since Eto'o was injured.

I'd like to see them knocked out.

ivor_the_injun wrote:Oh, and another thing - Riise's reaction to being headbutted was absolutely spot on. How often do you see players crumple after the merest of touches...JAR got butted on his eye socket, which instantly poured blood, and all he did was stumble slightly under the shock of the impact, but then just calmly walked off the pitch and left the ref to deal with it.

His wound spoke for itself, and it didn't need theatrics to get the outcome the butt warranted. Great attitude, and something some other so-called physical players could learn from.

Totally agree, pity certain other players in other teams couldnt do the same. Instead of trying to win an oscar.   Terrific performance by the lads last night, keep it up. :bowdown

We will win the CL again in May we have been the same as Rafa's first season in charge poor in the league great in the CL.
We cant win the prem anymore so our lads will go for number 6.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Id just like to mention Zendon.  He gets a lot of stick on here, but what a great ball for Gerrards goal. I think he is a decent player that only ever gets the chance to play a bit part, but generally does a good job.

Well in boys. good performance, You did exactly what was required.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

i was just about to curse Zenden coming on and actually playing in the middle instead of him moving out wide and Gerrard moving in the middle but then he struck that pass to Gerrard...he got a lot of stick but he contibuted well in this match and even back tracked to tackle.

About Barca, I have a feling that Chelsea may throw their match against Bremen if that means that they get to eliminate Barca...

Did you hear the priceless bit of commentary from Peter Drury?

(When Crouch challenged for a ball in the air in their box)

"He's...kind of...like a rampaging super spider"

I swear to god I p*ssed myself.

Yeah mate, me an me mate were watchin it, we were in hysterics for ages! funny as f.uck!!!!

overall, we played good, and we will win the CL :) 2005 + 2007! 6 times champions we'll be singing this time next year! (i hope, would be ace though, we'd get to rub it in Chelski's faces! :D)
