Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Sun Mar 10, 2024 8:00 pm

That’s 3 big games now where VAR has shafted us, the debacle at Tottenham, the handball against Arsenal and now Doku’s kung fu kick on Macca.

If we win all our remaining 10 games we have a great chance of winning the title, Arsenal will do well to beat City on their own patch, City don’t lose many at the Etihad.

Very strange to hear Carra saying he thought a penalty would have been a harsh decision. If that happens anywhere else on the pitch, it's a foul. Full stop. Why is it different in the box then?
It's over now anyway. We could have been done with a sucker punch by Doku, but we should have been out of sight. So could they in the first half, we were poison.

Yeah wasnt sure what Carragher was on about myself, it was a f***ing stonewaller. Turning into Ste McManaman mark II, once a blue always a blue. Shocking punditry from Sky, there was a load of them sitting there and not one of them called it for what it was (a nailed on pen). Would have got more sense  if you’d shoved a microphone under the noses of a bunch of random pi$$ heads watching the game in a bar.

The ref and VAR bottled it.

If Mac is kicked in the chest anywhere else on the pitch, it's a free kick and potential yellow card.

But because it was in the box for the last kick of the game, the powers that be ignored it.

No consistency.

Fantastic game, City threw the kitchen sink at us in the first 20 minutes but the longer the game went on the better we were. Could have and should have won. Jota would've slotted most of those opportunities.

Back 4 + goalie were superb, the future looks safe in their hands. Big hand again for Joe Gomez, another superb performance from a man who's risen more times from the dead than Lazarus.

To tell you the truth we didn't miss Trent.

I think we can all be proud of the team this season if we win the league or not. We've had everything thrown against us.. Injuries galore to key players, horrendous decisions against us in big games, our rivals getting decisions in their favour, the ridiculous amount of 12.30 kick offs on Saturdays after midweek games. The young players have come in and our performances haven't dropped!! We are going toe to toe with every team we play. Its gonna be a tough end to the season and that City vs Arsenal game now has become maybe even bigger for us than the game we've just played. Every game for us now is winnable. Win all our games, and we win the league.

I know we are in the Europa League but one thing which may help us as we head down the home straight is both City and Arsenal being in the latter stages of the CL.
Champions League quarters/semi’s/finals are massive, mentally draining games which can distract and take a lot out of players. I don’t want either of them to win it but on the flip side the longer they are in it the better it is for us.

If that tackle happens anywhere else on the pitch not only is it a definite foul there would be a VAR check to see if it’s a red.

Just watched “ Ref watch”  :help

How does he keep a straight face. I think it is a combination of sky not wanting to ruin their brand and him not wanting to show up his referee mates. Is there any point of that show?

I actually watched it to have a laugh at how they will justify it. It’s comical but not that funny.

It's the same sky that never mentioned the wrongly disallowed goal against Spurs until someone else did. They're a joke with a clear agenda.

He is just making himself look stupid as all other ex refs have come out saying a pen. Probably told what to say by Sky as they don't want their Sky Arabia station to lose its licence.
