I can't find the article you mention. This is all I've found so far (from June):

Daniel Agger is looking forward to life under Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, and the Denmark international is even prepared to sign a new contract with the club.

Agger has just enjoyed one of his best campaigns for Liverpool, combining with Martin Skrtel at the heart of a defence that was only bettered by the two Manchester clubs in England this season. Poor home form saw the Reds struggle in the league, but a Carling Cup triumph provided some reward for Agger's consistent displays.

The cultured defender took that form into Euro 2012, producing a Man-of-the-Match display in Denmark's victory over Netherlands, and after 170 appearances for Liverpool since he joined in 2006 it was wondered whether Agger - who has not always enjoyed the style of football at Anfield - would consider moving on.

However, the former Brondby man has no such plans and, much like goalkeeper Pepe Reina, is looking forward to working under Rodgers. Agger currently has two years left on his Liverpool contract, and he admits he would extend if the club opened talks.

"It's no secret that I'm happy to be in Liverpool. Otherwise, I would not have been there for six years," Agger told Danish website Sporten.dk. "I have not discussed a new contract, but if they come with an offer I will surely sit down and talk with them. It's not something that is urgent, for I have contract until 2014, but if they ask I will listen.

"I am looking forward to meeting the new coach. I've seen what he has done at Swansea, and it has been impressive."

I think it is gone now... I still had the thumbnail history on my google chrome with that article... it was similar to this one

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... rpool.html

but the soccernet's one was a bit more explicit in re-phrasing that Agger feels that he had not had offer from liverpool which he feels he deserves...

Seems the speculations have to stop now

Liverpool's new manager, Brendan Rodgers, now puts a lid on the transfer saga of the Danish national team argues Daniel Agger. The Dane is not going nowhere, hitting Rodgers fixed.

Daniel Agger has since European Championship finals otherwise been associated with a club transfer to either Barcelona or Manchester City. But Rodgers will build the new Liverpool team around the Danish national team captain.

- He's a top player and I want to keep him here, says Rodgers according to AFP.

- He (Daniel Agger. Eds) made it clear in the first conversation we had, he wanted to be part of the revolution, we must review. And the position he has held in.

Brendan Rodgers believes only that it is natural that there is a transfer of buzz about a player like Daniel Agger.

- There are clubs that have offered him, which is natural, since he is a top player.

- But to us, nothing has changed. He will not leave, and we will not sell him, says the cash from Liverpool manager.

Liverpool picked up in the summer, after yet another disappointing season, Brendan Rodgers at Swansea, where he had great success with its boldbesiddende style of play.

Merseyside club opens the season on Saturday with an away clash against West Bromwich Albion.

poor google translate sorry about that :)

i didn't actually see it yet, but it sounds like agger played a stroke of genius. making himself look like a slow and clumsy defender and taking himself out of the shop window until after the transfer window shuts. nice swan son.

I don't think it was a pen. Neither was Skrtel's. I've seen them not given.

Also, I heard Agger will be getting only 1 match ban.

:D

I was less concerned with his push--yes it was ill-advised but Long did make quite a meal of it--and more concerned with his loping after Long once it was clear that Skrtel had been left flat on his *****.  I think he could have worked a lot harder to get goal-side of Long.  At the very least he could have made sure he made a proper chance-ending challenge outside the box: if you're going to get sent off for a last-man foul, don't compound it by conceding the penalty too.  I'm not cynical enough to think he fell short of giving his all on purpose but it did look like he could have done much better than he did to trouble Long, even if the end result still wound up with him taking an early shower.

Is Agger available for the Arsenal game this weekend? He only had a one week suspension, didn't he?

Nope. Just one. And he's not going anywhere. Man City already have a deal in place for a defender from Fiorentina with Stefan Savic heading the other direction. He's been touted as the next Vidic.

I wonder if City will try a last minute steal for Daniel Agger?

Maybe not it seems, as they have just got Maicon from Inter.

Great news , now stay fit and lets have a clean sheet this weekend!!!  :buttrock
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

fabulous news, as a club it just sends out the right signals when your better players are willing to commit their futures to the club by signing long term contracts.
especially players being linked to barcelona.
