That falls under JacDaniel's second point doesn't it?

Nobody is suggesting that FSG need to do a Monsur and invest £1bn on players, because that's unsustainable, but they do not invest money in Rodger's strategy to get the wheels in motion, so to speak. Newcastle and Spurs are being very shrewd in the transfer market and are spending money, so they are proof that you don't need to splash the cash in the fashion that Chelsea and City do. Relying on players with potential, bargain basement signings and loan signings will not work, that's a cast iron guarantee. Not when the teams above us are spending money and don't need to sell some of their better players in order to finance the purchase of new players.

Back training with first team, photo on RAWK, looking happy enough, not that we can read anything into that.

I think he will start on Thursday and still be a Liverpool player on 1st September.

If we had bought any players Newcastle buy you would be going apeshit saying we had no ambition accusing the club of buying mid-table mediocrity but because Newcastle are buying then is a shrewd bit of business.

Well we did not!

Selling Agger IMO will be the clearest sign that FSG is not up for big ball....

in my mind i've have already prepared myself for the possibility of him going. half of me thinks it's inevitable where as the other half thinks he'll stay.

Cole? Maybe we can avoid have to pay to get rid of him?
Downing? Maybe we'll get 5-7 million after paying of the wage.
Adam? not even 5 million after paying half his wage to whatever club will take him.
Henderson? Not even 10 million. And then we migh have to pay for some of his wages to as I doubt any midtable club taking him on want
to spend 60k for his services.
So selling all of them might now even give as much as selling just Agger....

That is what happens when you make stupid signings on high wages. You loose a furtune.

It will be painful watching the ineffective combo of Hendo(No Confidence)-Adam(Clumsy)-Downing(Assistless)-Cole(Injured) arghh...

You mean like Tiote, Cabaye, Ba and Cisse? If Liverpool signed these players over the one's it has done over the last few years, I'd  have been estatic.

Very shrewd for you to say that with hindsight :p

He said Torres left disrespectfully, and that he'd never play for another English club.

Torres left disrespectfully because he handed in a request 3 days before the window closed.  If Agger went to city, I'd have no problem with that, and I'd wish him all the best, as long as he made his intentions clear sooner rather than later.  £20 million for a 27 year old defender who misses at least 10 games a season (in all competitions) from injury is really not bad.

He's one of my favorite Liverpool players, and I really want him to stay.  But if he does go I'll still appreciate what he's done for us.

Soccernet's just said we want £25 million for him, partially based on the fact that city paid 22 for Lescott.  Dagger is twice the player Lescott is, no question, so there's no reason we can't ask that much from them.

I'd be shocked, given the fees we've shelled out for players if we even considered an offer less than 30 million.  To be honest, I'd be shocked if we considered any offers at all for Agger, unless he wants to leave of course.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.
