STOKE CITY VS LIVERPOOL - 13 november 2010, ko: 17:30

Liverpool Football Club - Games

This is the most annoying game ever...

The ball is just constantly going out of play then you get the old 'Waheeeeeey!' from the stoke fans, Delap has probably taken about 5 mins up just using that friggin towel.

The reason we have done better at the end of this half is because the stoke strikers are too tired to close our cb's down so less hoofing. 2nd half should be massive improvement. We need a winger on the pitch. Maxi and Meireles are central players. Bring on Babel, at least he might run with the ball a bit.

Rant over, come on red men

I'm sorry but the team looks completly unprepered for this game ,i don't know what Roy told them but Stoke game plan totally dominated ,we are playing into their hands and frankly look shell shocked. I'll say it again we need to get the hell away out of our box as much as possible. We need to pressure them high and apply same brutality as they do (Gerrard?). Pride and toughness play a big part in this kind of games ,till now we are being btch slapped.

I'd say we need to back off Roy wrt this match, just a bit. We don't have height in our team and as someone mentioned earlier, Stoke have simply kept the ball in the air.

Carra hasn't done us any favors by playing right into that game, but then we know he really isn't capable of doing anything but hoof (atleast not anymore).

Stoke have had plenty of chances based on their gameplay but haven't converted a single one yet.

I do believe we can snatch this one towards the end. It honestly doesn't matter how we get the 3 points today. Games against Stoke are never pretty on the eye.

Stoke are all over us, we'll be lucky to draw.  Of course we've typically played better 2nd half of games, the last two notwithstanding.

Was anyone really expecting our away tactics to change?
It's just like watching the Wigan game all over again, if Stoke went into the lead no one could say it wasn't deserved.

Lets see if there are change in tactics in the 2nd half

Ah but Pellegrini has taken on a real challenge in La Liga already :)

Sorry but if we wanted to we could play circles around these thugs, but instead we let them control how the game is played.

Stoke done the same to Aston Villa, i stil think they beat them due to Villa getting the hump and spent the 2nd half moarning about the time taken for throw ins

poor. shocking. terrible.

But, in all honestly Stoke are playing very, very well. Look what happens when we get the ball - even on the edge of our own box, they are closing down within seconds. We have had no time on the ball. Zero time before one or even two stoke players are upon us. - Now this isn't an excuse - but its a very good game plan from stoke if they can keep it up.

Like I said its even on our own 18 yard line, they are pressuring so much we've hardly had time to look up to see who's available for a pass. No excuses though, we should be better than this, and we should be able to work around it, but their closing down has been brilliant

I would go with Babel in the 2nd half ( never thought i'd say that ). We need something............................anything :(  Jesus christ on a bike, we are proper fecking awful.

Can this team not raise themselves for these types of games?

Arsenal we did ok in
Chelsea we were fab
Man Utd we were ok

Birmingham, Everton, Northampton, Wigan we are just not up for it in any shape or form.

Correct mate.

As soon as we push them into their own half and they have to defend they are absolute sh!te.

We need to give our cb's more distribution options in midfield if we are going to win this.

I would stick Meireles into midfield, move Kuyt to the right and bring either Babel or Jova on for Maxi.

Its extremely frustrating the team haven't reponded to the new owners taking over. I would have thought enthusiasm and adrenalin would have us winning the Wigan and Stoke style of games having established our credentials against Chelsea. Whats wrong in the dressingroom?
