Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

On a more sobering note....there's no promise whatsoever of a cash windfall to buy players. The debt will be erased so we will move forward with no debt. We will still not be in a position to compete with other clubs for trophy signings. All is not greener on the other side...

One step at a time eh?

Lets get twit and :censored: out first, settle the debt and re-group this season. Next season maybe we can look at getting the squad back into the shape it needs.

A quick fix isnt possible

We'll have to wait and see on that one and it also depends on what you mean by "windfall". It isn't sustainable to be throwing Man City money about but £40m-£50m net would do just fine. New signings needn't cost £25m each to make a big difference to the quality and depth of your squad as your Kranjcars, Van der Vaarts, Vermaelens etc.. bear out. It's a damn site better than having a zero net spend, no prospect of stadium development and two sheisters at the helm who couldn't care less about the club.

All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

i aint expecting a massive cash injection into the team but i reckon we will get something plus the manager will prob get what he makes from sales to add to it.
either way it a damn sight more than we were getting or would have got under these two.

New Americans eh? They couldnt be worse than these fools we have now. If I heard well they are the owners of the Red Sox... they are the best baseball team in the States for the past years. I think these guys are great :)

From the little knowledge I have of the situation Hicks simply cannot sack the two lads, I'd say thats an empty gesture by a desperate man.

I doubt he has much of a case but that doesnt necessarily mean that its not a crafty tactic to attempt to delay the deal in the hope that he can bargain his way to a better payoff.

I expect the court hearing to go Broughtan's way, although Hicks may abuse the system with a pointless appeal so as to buy himself more time.

I'm not getting excited until the whole thing is done and dusted, which it most certainly isnt at the present point in time.
