What I'm trying to figure out is why would Hicks/Gillett block the sale? The banks are going to own it anyway within a week and they're going to find the cheapest bidder to recover their losses.

What plans do Tweedledum and Tweedledee have for LFC that they are not sharing that can stop the banks from taking over within one week?

My guess is they would prefer RBS to call the debt and the club go into liquidation get deducted 9pts and they feck off back over the pond thinking they have stuffed us. They are a pair of greedy bar stewards and are now leaving with exactly what they arrived with NOWT

RBS could in theory extend the loan, but overall I guess it just buys them time to find a way of refinancing the loan. Fat chance now I think, but they're desperate and it's the only hope they have.
