One season wonder - which season is that ? First one where he was our top scorer in prem or second when he was scoring crucial goals for us in CL or the next season when he scored double figure goals plus double figure assists or then next when he did the same again ?

The only reason we still have him still is that he is overpaid and that noone will let us break even.

Inter's Moratti has said they will not bid on any lfc players.
Kuyt will never win a single trophy in a lfc shirt but still everyone think he is great. Emperor's new clothes.....

ive been one of Kuyt's harshest critics but ive been won over by his attitude both on and off the field. so what if he is 30? im sure he can give us another good 2 or 3 seasons before he can be sold back to Holland if he wishes to make a sentimental return. but not this season for sure.

Don't give me this :censored: argument about attitude and hard work.

Kuyt is a very mediocre and with players at his skill level you win jack squat!
But please live on in dreamland where attitude and hard work wins you titles....  :no

We need a real winger for gods sake!

Somebody with speed, a good cross and skill.

Riera came very close to being just that exept he didnt have much speed and was very inconsistent.

Sell Kuyt, get Arda Turan :)

Okay, i'm a fairly new poster but have been reading the forum for years. My comments on tonight. There is plenty to get despondant about but, with time I kinda think, things are going to gel. Rome wasn't built in a day so I'm quite confident to give Roy full backing. As for the team,
Johnson-aweful, his decision making throughout was pretty terrible.
Agger-it showed tonight he's being played out of position
Skirtel-wtf! why are you lunging(however innocuous) at a player that is moving away from the goal?
Gerrard-decided to up his game when we were 2-0 down! C'mon! And looked, as powerful as he can be as a player, pretty f===n woeful.
What else, aaah! Torres-wtf was he doing being found on the wing? Does that not show our inadequacies?
N'gog- good player just doesn't seem to have the strength(prove me wrong)
Jovanovic-mmmmm, has the ability. A night of wrong onfield(where else) decisions for him.
Lucas-I know I'm gonna get shot down in flames for this, but seemed to have an ok game. One bad pass in the 1st half. That was it. Maybe a couple of mistimed tackles but did what he was supposed to do.
N'gog-met his match. Okay, but again, pretty anonymous
Having saId that, I didn't think Roy was gonna walk in and have success. That sort of sh+t takes a little bit of time and I have no doubts that we'll do okay this season. How okay, who knows?

he was awful tonight, he can do a job as an advance right sided player in 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 but as traditional winger in a 4-4-2? what was Hodgson thinking? that was a ludicrous decision

I apologise but maybe it was me thinking of Kuyt's abysmal display that ended up with me talking about everyone but him. His decision making was woeful all night tonight and even though I have always been a big supporter of his, I'm starting to think that at 30, £15 million may be a good price(according to bullsh+t allegations)

Probably the worst game I can remember him having at Liverpool, we've covered this ground before but he cannot play as a wide midfielder in a 442, hes not quick enough to burst into attack from a deeper position, hes good at pressing higher up the pitch, defending from the front and going through on the counter but he brings very little to the role he was cast in tonight. I think hed have been more suited to a withdrawn striker role behind Torres tonight with Maxi on the right side, where he could still have done his defensive duties but been in a more advanced area of the pitch but thats only my opinion, we'd probably still have got steamrolled by Citys exploitation of the flanks

Maybe a factor on this being one of Kuyt's worst games is because he has his mind on other things. Does he still want to play for Liverpool?
