There is only one reason our owners do anything, money.
Things are really not looking good, sounds like its news to rafa too. His agent has declined to comment.

1. Secures key players who apparently had lost confidence and threathened to leave
2. Means we are about to be bought and rid ourselves of the Yanks

His agent says Inter want him but it aint happening as he wont back out of his contract with Turkey.

And I was asking if that was even plausible... But like Lakes said there would have been some news of a new owner entering talks if that was the case.

I'm hoping it was part of the deal, so the new owners are not tarnished with sacking the manager as their first act. Might not be popular with the fans....

Why? Why would you want players who are not playing for the sake of the football club first and foremost, nevermind if they don't get on with the manager or not. I'll say this: if Torres and Gerrard have anything to do with getting a manager the sack at this football club, then I want them sold ASAP. They can f*ck right off. You can just imagine the likes of Paisley or Shanks getting the jib of players. What would they do? They'd f*ck them off, that's what they'd do. Say what you want about Ferguson, but if you cross him, as good as a player you may be, you're gone. That's how it should be at this football club, but now we have players supposedly dictating the show? That's not Liverpool football club. That's a f*ckin farce where money and player power does the talking.

Thats the thing tho Rafa is not in the same class as those 2 managers and to even say their names in the same breath is an insult.
