I can just imagine the forum if we finish 5-7th next season.
Even if we had to sell Masch in the summer not getting anything to spend I'd still expect most people demanding a title challenge.

Not forgetting the fact City spending another 50-100 million, Chelski, Spurs and Villa will further invest.

But Rafa must challenge, all else is a failure...

I assure you that wouldnt be the case.

This forum would be dead.

If we finish at least 5th. The case would present itself. It would be pointless arguing rafas case. As he has presented it himself. I have resigned myself to another season of the one just past. As long as we avoid relegation it wont be so bad.

As long as Torres and Gerrard are around to drag Lucas, Kuyt and the lot along we'll always get a top half finish.

But we need investment if we want to be up there.

This is one of my biggest problems with Rafa.
He uses the fans to get his own way. I understand why he does it but its not very comendable as it splits the fans into different factions by causing them to take sides.
I dont know if he used this tactic at Valencia but in my opinion its not a very honourable way to go about things.
He used it to great effect with Moors and Parry, eventually getting total control of all aspects of the players from the academy upwards. In the process Parry resigned, Moores sold up and we got the tw@ts from across the pond.
I am absolutely gutted that he chooses to air our dirty linen in public. It makes me sick to the stomach listening to him openly debating whether he will stay or go. It cheapens him and us. Those who think hes in order answer me this: Why isnt this sorted behind closed doors, honourably and professionally? Instead we are a laughing stock with constant stories about senior players leaving and fans fighting over flags. Where is the loyalty, decency and respect?
Fu*king disgrace and he should be ashamed of himself

In your post your making it sound like rafa forced moores to sell up ?! He got full control of the playing aspect of the club last summer ?! Moores sold up 3 years ago . As for the airing of dirty laundry welcome to modern football and it started before Rafa arrived and also includes players owners agents directors coaches and includes every team in the world.

Defend him as much as you want. The fact is he has ended up gaining full control.
He is airing our dirty laundry right now in public. He is using and splitting the fans with his behaviour. He is choosing to play out this whole embarrassing, shitty situation through the media.
He, or you, can justify it any way you please but that is what is happening.

He rafa didn't come out and say anything or do anything then every man and his dog would be believing the specualting cr.ap the press come up with . As I said welcome to the modern world we live in , I don't like it as much as the next person but it's somethig you have to deal with because nothing is behind close doors these days , even more so when it now appears or CEO is responsible of leaking stuff to the press or is that Rafa's fault . Still not sure what your point is about moores selling to the yanks have to do wih rafa or is he getting the blame for that as well ! Any explaination !

What you talkin about  ???

Thats what I thought Nan as well.....  :suspect:

pretty straight forward, Rafa- resign like Brown.

Goes to show you can misread posts, of course I know, as does Nan that Brown has offered to step down, but dont see the parallel, why would Rafa want to step down? Hence Nan's question and my comment.

pmsl

Brown gets told to step down to save his party

Rafa gets told to step down to stop Torres leaving the club or
Rafa told to step down to save the club from more years of nothing.

its all the media that are causing the trouble, nobody else.

Rafa is speaking with the chairman about how to take the club forward.  Ancelloti has ruled out bidding for Torres.  Mancini has conceded that it will be hard to lure him to City.  Torres has never said he wants to go.  Nor has Gerrard.

If you ask me, id say 99% of what we've read is BS.  Although i am slightly concerned that Gerrard or Torres havent commented too much on their futures.

So for Tony Barret this is something worth of mentioning, but I guess the mega flags that you could see all the season are not worth mentioning.

I guess flags are only important for Tony Barret if they serve the purpose of giving stick to Rafa.

I don't even have an opinion about Rafa's future right now, the season has been that bad. But I think Rafa has enough problems in the club, and having to sort out a lot of things in the team, he doesn't really need Barret style of articles, he's well in the mud now.

Sabes your wrong there mate with Tony Barrett, he is Rafas mate , one of the journos Rafa trusts . so he wouldnt be having a dig at Rafa , If he says he seen it , well he must of seen it , Good lad is our Tony :nod

Yup, I thought it was that other guy, Bascombe. I got them wrong  :D

I read the whole article later and it was quite balanced.

The issue I have with some journos and posters is not that they're anti rafa. I think that any anti rafa has enough arguments to wield, enough problems to comment, so I find it totally unnecessary to speculate with further problems, and make up stories, or mentioning every detail against Rafa.

That's why I didn't like one iota that he commented the incident of the flag, when I have seen no journo that has used the fact of the support Rafa has enjoyed so far. It's as if besides being anti Rafa, some journos enjoy giving kicks to the ribs.

" dont sack me, i know i was talking to other clubs but they have said no to giving me all the power, you are mugs and gave me all the power....if you sack me you have to give me 16mil then"

the club is saying

" but you have :censored: of the big players at our club and if you stay they will go"
