FFS....Just go or stay already..... all this "will he-won't he" cr@p in the press is doing me head in. We need to focus on next season and without clear answers, things are going to get rough for all involved. My biggest fear is that with all the uncertainty, we may see our 2 biggest assets walk away rather than go through another wasted year of uncertainty.

The sooner the club is sold the faster the club can move forward
with or without benitez

The Valencia talks were put on hold when Juve stated or said to have stated that they had given Rafa a date to make up his mind by, Real have also been in contact with Rafas agent.

Spot on. If he wants to leave and go to work for Juve, why should Juve have to compensate him ? He is leaving a job on £4million and getting a job on £4 million. So there should be NO REASON that he should be asking Juve for compensation.

If we sack him, obviously he has a case for some compensation from us.

Maybe its because he loves the fans eh

To be totally honest I'm 100% over the Benitez circus. The club is bigger than one man and his contract, it's bigger than his agent desperately spinning in the press to try and put him in a good light, it's bigger than all this nonsense.

Just go, and take all the hangers on with you.

Losing Gerrard or Torres this summer would be a bigger blow than losing Benitez.

If we manage to keep these two players then at least we have some chance of attracting stars from teams like Bayern  & valencia- despite bayern being in the Champ Final I do feel the lure of liverpool and the chance of playing with MASCH-TORRES-GERRARD albeit in the Europa league for 1 yr would be enough to attract star players

The flip side is we keep benitez and potentially lose star players- thus making it twice as difficult to compete next season

Liverpool FC has a VERY SERIOUS problem wrt its continued existence as a top club, and folks are here blabbing about Benitez, perhaps the only person that can be asigned any credit in the mess that has enveloped the management of the club in the past 15yrs..

U guys are beyond losing it...

Look we ought to be on the phone to Juve telling them that we'll pay half his salary if they're stupid enought o take him on. That's what you do when you have a disaster on your hands which you need to offload. Yes we should never have agreed the contract, yes we shouldn't have given him total control, but that's all in the past now. The simple fact is, we desperately need to get rid, even the players are slowly coming out now the season is over and saying they don't want to stay if he does.

Unfortunately we are stuck with him because the owners won't shell out the cash to get rid, and he won't feck off without the cash. in the meantime, the club goes to feck. A trio of fecking sheisters they are between them.

Pray what players are coming out and saying they wont stay if he does?

If he hates it that much he could walk but ofcourse theres his lum sum payoff at stake. I think its a battle of minds and who is willing to hold out. As I see it the owners want to force him to walk by making life difficult for him thus saving them the compensation payment they can ill afford.Benitez knows this is happening so is hanging in there in the hope they break first and sack him. In his own mind he probably feels he deserves his compo though I dont share that view. Anyway the mind games behind the scenes continue with stories being fed to the press and media by both parties in attempts to unsettle the other. All we can do is sit back and pick the bones from it all whilst speculating what may happen next. Its frustraing at tmes but interesting to keep guessing as the tale unfolds hour by hour.

I think all agents for managers should be banned in England.
There was talk of it years ago but that just turned into the Managers union thing.

I'm afraid I can't agree with that mate.

IMO there's been far too much nonsense coming from his agent with regards to soundbites he provides journalists with as to the status of his clients position.

As far as I know, no agent is going to make these kind of nonsense statements without his client's knowledge..... There's no way he'd risk his 10% commission.

If Rafa didn't know about it, he should come out in the press and say it and end all this bull once and for all.

We need to focus on the pre-season and the season next.

Enough already.

I am thoroughly sick of Rafa's little games manipulating the press, other clubs and OUR club, time to call his bluff and call time on him now. Put him on gardening leave so we don't have to pay the £16million all in one go ..... and see if Juventus will still be there next Christmas when Rafa may be a little more amicable to doing a deal.
