Villareal V Liverpool - Europa Semi 1st leg - Thurs 28 April

Liverpool Football Club - Games

I still feel we will put a few past them at home. They are by no means unbeatable.

They will go ultra defensive and our home support will raise the roof off again.

Had Moreno buried that 1 on 1 it would have been a much different story heading back to Anfield.

He's nothing on Moreno....he can't defend or attack.

Meh...we will comfortably beat this lot at Anfield. They will crumble when we raise it a notch or two at home.

I can't see the logic in bringing Ibe on at halftime instead of Sturridge. He would have slotted in nicely upfront with Lallana and Firmino just behind him.

To be fair they worked that goal well, Moreno had the chance to square it to Ibe a few minutes earlier but he chose to shoot instead. Not a great result for us that, if they get an away goal it's Dortmund all over again but at least we'll be up for it next Thursday, we are often at our best when our backs are to the wall.

Totally agree. We will put them to the sword at home. They are a functional side, nothing special. Expecting a turkey shoot at home. Once the first goes in, expect the floodgates to open

Don't know why we decided to finally push numbers forward on 91 mins... awful game management by the players. Klopp had clearly set them up to play a 0-0, whether you agree with that approach or not, and some really poor decisions at the end cost us.

Villareal are an average side. I fancy us at Anfield any day against this side.

Some of you actually talk as if this is going to be easy at Anfield.  If they score we will need three goals! It's going to be a very tricky night. VR  have now gone 12 straight games in the Europa league without losing.

No idea what you lads are talking about...We weren't better it was a pretty leveled game which required us to be 100% focused for 93 minutes and we all saw what a lack of cost us..Klopp got it right he thought that a not mobile player like Daniel would disrupt his tactics and he almost got it right.

Both team played a very tight game with almost no mistakes and it's going to be a battle in Anfield..We should be able to score but it's going to be close.

Thought we deserved a draw but that's footy for ya

Tactically I thought we were decent enough but klopp should have went for it in the last 10 by putting studge on. We had a few chances during the game to score but unfortunately they landed at allen and that ridiculous effort from Moreno. Firmino was poor throughout and should have been withdrawn earlier.
Disappointing we didn't try harder for an away goal especially seeing how the game ended but I don't think we are out of it by any means at all  :no

Villareal dont look much but unlike Dortmund are equipped to go to Barca and Madrid and shut up shop so they will feel confident enough and supremely if they can score at Anfield.

At least we know what we have to do now, with us being behind I'm sure the fans will welcome the coaches on the way to the ground a la Dortmund and Anfield itself will be bouncing so we still have a good chance of going through.
I expect we'll see a more attacking line up as well, we'll probably see a front four with Coutinho playing centrally behind Sturridge so it will be a different Liverpool next week.

I Just think we played in 3rd gear and we're looking to keep it tight and then win ithe at Anfield. 1-0 loss doesn't really make a difference.  I just don't see Villareal holding out when we ramp up the Pressure at home with the crowd urging the team forward.

Not the best result is it! I would have been happy with a draw. Villareal are not that good but they are hard to beat. Whenever we were attacking you will always see 2 rows of 4 defending.
I don't know why studge was not introduced. Unless he picked up a injury via a sore a $$ sitting in the plane.
Im stil confident we can get a result at home. Tie is not over yet we can still do this.

I don't think anyone said its going to be plain sailing. Dortmund hadn't lost this year and look what happened at Anfield. All streaks come to an end Dev.

Under Klopp we are a totally different side in Europe at home. I have every belief that our supporters will create yet another memorable night next week. Our players will feed off it once again and go for it. Not sure why you don't feel the same way?
