Man city show that "money does matter".... and with the 2 owner that still wants 600M the sale of the club with no money to buy players ... if continue like this , we can forget CL next season ...

I agree. Roy needs to make a couple of signings before the month is out.

It's not like he can either. We have skint owners and we probably won't get in new owners in time for the Jan window so come next season we probably still wont be able to overhaul the squad due to the new UEFA ruling either.

Happy days

I wonder will Andy Gray be sucking Roy's balls after this and still be praising the system, which is quiet literally redundant in the modern game. We got swamped in the midfield from the outset.

someone remind he where we finished in the league in Rafa's first season.

you've set yourself up here Kewell

Rafa won the CL in his first season and then improved in the league and got CL football in all of the seasons we were here (bar his last)

no i haven't lad, IN THE LEAGUE we were awful..5th place we finished and struggled to get results against the likes of HULL.

Hull were in the prem in Rafa's first season?  ???

look, he gave us the Champions League for Christ sake, how do you think Roy would fare in that competition?

You'd have sacked Rafa for his league finish in his first season

Top 4 for a club like Liverpool isn't something that should be talked about, it should be expected, a minimum - Rafa won the competition that every team strives to get into

no i woudn't have sacked him, my point is he was given time.

whats your minimum expectation of Roy this season then? before you'd sack him I mean
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

JFT 96 - Gone but never forgotten
YNWA 15/4/1989
God Bless You All

Cost has nothing to do with it, mate. Not that performance.

To be honest I don't think them having better players than us is reason enough for us to go into their stadium with our tails between our legs.  We need to start playing football and soon, we have the quality.  We can't just sit here and say oh we're sh!t we need better players, we have good players we need to raise our expectations though and demand more out of our current squad and manager.  We better take it to Brom next week or I'll have to lower my expectations on the season.

You can blame him for doing nothing while we are beeing overrun in the midfield.

Perhaps, but it wasn't just there that the problems lay, the defending was pretty shocking for all the goals. Wasn't much on the bench to change things in the middle anyway, Poulson isn't match fit!

We need a left back , a creative midfielder , another striker , a pacey wide player the problem is we have no money to spend to get one . It makes the desicion to let Aquilani go even worse now and spending money on two players that weren't needed as much as other areas
