If this country has an ar$ehole then it'll be located at Hull. What a dump.
I went out with a girl that attended Hull Uni. She was ok but some of the munters out on a night out were scary. The women of Hull are defo harder than the men and they have far better tattoo's too - which they dont mind showing ya.

One such night me, my mate (cockney Chris) and my bird decended on a boozer just outside the main student area. It was a traditional Hull drinking pub. It had men in flat caps sat smoking roll ups, pint of dark bitter and their dog at their feet. As we entered the front door there was a choice to make. Left = Tap 'Oil, right = Lounge.

We turned left as my mate wanted a game of pool. We entered and realised we'd made the wrong choice when this scruffy looking oik shouted "can ya not read t'sign c*nt", pointing his pool cue at the wall [NO WOMEN ALLOWED IN THE TAP 'OIL] - fecking marvellous. We'd gone back in time to the 1940's.

We left the Tap 'Oil and went into the lounge. We went up to the bar and my cockney mate went to order some beer. The landlord called this oldish guy over, whispered summat to him and he escorted us safely outside. He told us that the word had started buzzing around the pub that we were out-of-towners and a couple of the lads in there were notorious for dragging out-of-towners around the back and knocking them around, robbing them of there possesions. We were grateful to that old guy.

Places in Hull worth visiting

M62 west and dont stop

Places in Hull not worth a visit

The Deep - fecking 9 pund 50 pence to walk around a great big murky fish tank? fek orf.

Advert for accomodation in Hull

Available now, don't miss this opportunity to live in abject misery in an undesirable turd bucket!

Rooms vary from £300 PCM for a shoe box to £335 for a medium size cupboard. Each room comes with mildew as standard, and the stale smell is at no extra charge. Do not accept other landlords who ask you to pay a stale smell surcharge (SSS).
The house has rising damp, electrics that would horrify an electrician with an ounce of sense and carpets that were new only last millennium.
Close to extortionate priced local amenities and a pub that smells like a stables, the house would suit an upwardly mobile set of professional tenants or a family of people from Bradford.
Neighbours are civil but blunt, due to hating the houses bosnia-chic appearance.
Garden comes with a square metre of grass, childrens' play table, and a wall that will one day soon crush a passing cat. At the end of the garden is a shed that stinks and will probably be housing an extra tenant if the landlady gets her way.
Landlord comes round once yearly to make the place look slightly less sh!ty for prospective tenants.

:wwww  Lets knock 'em for 6!   0-6 to the reds.

Dear Lee J, I am pleased to inform you that your application for permanent match thread starter has been received favourably by the Newkit hiring committee.  The unsuccessful candidates will be informed that the vacancy has been filled and someone from HR will soon be in touch to sort out all the paperwork for the benefits packages.  Welcome aboard, son. :D

We've never lost to Hull, wouldn't it cap a wonderful season if they won this one........................... Last time we didn't win at their's was in 73/74

I care almost as little about this result as I do the T20, I'm just waiting for good news to come from Anfield like new owners, new manager, someone finding Luke Skywalker, anything. And for all the talk Rafa talks we've signed Jovanovic on a bosman from Standard Liege and Shelvey from league one Charlton, maybe a sign of the times loading our squad with players good enough perhaps for the Euro Disney League.

I think we'll win this one but since the highest we can finish is 6th if villa don't beat Blackburn at home then it will be much like the mancs having to win and hoping Chelsea don't, except there is a league title at stake for them while our's is merely moving up one place from an embarrasing 7th to an embarrassing 6th. Want a measure of how poor our season's been? We're only four points above the bitters and they're bottom of the mini-league that is the top eight (eight points between them and brum in 9th is a gulf)

  good one Lee :D

I would play a mixture of kids, squad players and first teamers in this one. End the season with a bang and try to score more goals than Hull rather than just hoping to snatch a 1-0 win. Give us something other than all the political sh!t to talk about by finishing the season on a high. 5-2 to Liverpool (thats the result not the odds)

Hmmm, it turns out that this match isn't quite the dead rubber we thought.  Apparently, if we overtake Villa for 6th we spare ourselves an extra round of the Europa League qualifiers.  Stay in 7th and we'll have to play our first European match on July 29th.  Perhaps that might provide the right kind of preparation for our league campaign but, in a world cup year, I think it would pose a real headache.  So, we had best beat Hull and hope that Villa lose or manage only a draw at home to Blackburn.

I think that ship has sailed Bob. Hoping Villa lose at home to a Blackburn side that has only won 2 away games all season is clutching at straws imo, and while if they draw and we win we would do it on GD, i I expect Blackburn to fold if Villa bother to turn up.

Didn't say I was counting on it, mate, just hoping! :D  Truthfully, this is the first I've heard of this little wrinkle.  In the grand scheme of our problematic season it's just one more little niggle but we really could do without starting our next campaign on July 29th.

In all honesty I would prefer we don't "try" to win the Europa league anyway mate, but just play our squad and reserve players. Monday night football after the Thurday football has never been our strong point. We need to concentrate on the league and Fa cup next season (no matter whether people rate the Europa league or not)

In it to win it this season as we hadn't far to go, in it just for the experience next season as there is just too far to go.

I don't believe we can afford to gamble with our league position, another season of failure would be a total disaster.

Not a bad point, mate.  Playing every Thursday messes up our league fixtures pretty handily and I think you are right to suggest we would do well to mitigate those problems first and foremost.

It's an interesting thought: play the kid and squad players for the most part in Europe and rest our top players for the league and domestic cups.  I think that especially applies for any long haul traveling to the wilds of Eastern Europe for qualifying ties in mid-summer.  Much depends, of course, on who are manager is and how much he values European competition...

I'll have to break the silence and register the first post in this thread for 45 hours, says it all the lack of interest.

I can't see Rafa playing reserves in Europe, it is his best shot at a trophy because it is two-legged
