I've gone for Bellamy. I think it won't take him long to get setteled bacause he has played in the Prem for a number of years and he will get to know the rest of the squad during pre season. His goals will be priceless for us this year. The goals are the real reason I've gone for Bellers. Our forwards struggled in front of goal last season but I don't think Bellamy will. So for me it's Bellamy who will make the biggest impact.

i voted for speedy, as he will give us something we have lacked since john barns switched to the middle of the park.. real width and pace to get round the back of teams

seeing the players we have brought in over the summer must make SG glad he'd stayed and owen sick as feck to leave the club just before we turned the corner.

My suspicion is that Aurelio when fit will be a pretty tasty left-back. Gonzales may take time to settle while Palletta probably won't play that many games. I also still haven't given up on agger being a really good player, but back onto the new signings Bellamy would appear to be the only one who is almost certain to be an immediate regular starter so i would probably go for him.
As a footnote I expect this season that Sissoko will emerge as an absolute monster of a midfield player and could be something very special indeed.

Ive gone the same as most. Bellamy. We have been missing goals, last season against charlton was just so bad to watch, that wont happen this term now we have bellamy

I went with Bellamy too Daws' but reading some of the posts I hope people don't make the mistake of thinking we've bought a table lamp when it's actually a chair leg, or whatever the quote was. Though he can score goals, Bellamy is not a Fowleresque poaching specialist and I would have thought that if he can score twelve Premiership goals from open play then he would be pretty happy with that.

What he does do is contribute and offer a threat. Not just in scoring a goal but in making one too. Crucially though, he offers real pace and unlike our previous speed merchant Cisse, he actually has some football intelligence aswell.

When he plays alongside Crouch in particular (unlike many I think this is our natural first-choice pairing if we don't add anybody else) , we should see teams struggling with the natural dilemma about where to hold the line. Obviously against players with pace they like to defend deep, whereas against Crouch they would like to defend as high up as possible. It told a thousand tales last season how many times teams were prepared  to defend high up when Cisse was playing, taking the gamble with the pace but knowing that he would like as not run offside or in totally the wrong direction. Bellamy won't do that but I suspect he may not be that prolific in front of goal either.
Crouch will though so theres no problem.

Momo may struggle to get into the side this year, I'm affraid to say. With Pennant on the right that means Gerrard is back in the middle with Xabi. So unless Rafa changes the formation, Momo may only be back up and not have as much of an impact as he did last year.

I am a huge fan of Momo and want him to play. But with what I've just said, he may not get the chance this year.

I went for Gonzalez.
From the few matches I've seen him play, he should be a right menace down the left flank. Finally we have 2 proper wingers!

Bellamy for me. He had done well in the past at clubs with not-so-strong playing personnel and/or with managers who are not tactically that good. He should start delivering early in relation to the others because he knows the English game already and has shown a lot of hunger and enthusiasm.

i pick pennant. Purely because i think he will be ever present. He'll create loads and so will have the biggest impact on the team.

Bellamy will do good i just hope we try to find him with a little more variation than we use to find owen. Xabi, kewell luis and stevie should be capable of that.

Palletta looks ready for prem now. Could be the sissoko of this season.

Hope that the striker we get is gonna fit into the squad. I want Ashton. (not gonna happen though)

though i wasnt overly keen on him signing i`ve got a feeling pennant will become a revelation at anfield.
a lot of our crossing from wide positions in the past few seasons has been of the hit and hope variety with only gerrard consistently putting quality balls into dangerous area`s when he`s playing wide right.
kewell can do it but not consistently enough and the others like riise, finnan, cisse and warnock who have found themselves in crossing positions are just as likely to find the first defender as the channel between the keeper and his back four.
pennant seems an intelligent crosser of the ball who has practised hard the art of putting the ball into dangerous area`s and takes some pride in that aspect of his game. he doesnt look like a hit and hope merchant which a lot of fullbacks or converted strikers or midfielders tend to be.
united proved when they were in their pomp a few seasons ago that if you put enough real top quality balls into the opposition box then even average strikers will score bagfulls of goals.

i went for bellamy too as the majority did. already he has shown his ability to compose himself in front of goal and use his pace wisely, which cisse didnt do.

but i wouldnt be suprised if aurelio had a big impact. the few games i have seen him in pre season i have been very impressed with his one touch passing, awareness, skill, etc.  no doubt i'm sure he will become the next brazilian full back. if he stays injury free that is.

Our biggest problem this year that we are only allowed 11 players on the pitch. With the quality we have our target should only be the very top.
