Personally I wouldn't trust him to go shopping at Tesco's with £50. No doubt he would buy a Christmas pudding for £20 just to have it sitting on the shelf for 9 months.

Just pathetic when you use the excuse of not trusting the manager with money as if it won't matter if we have money or not... which we do not so it is all very hypothetical.

The fact is we are skint and couldn't improve the squad even if we wanted to and every team around us can and will spend more. The fact is every manager makes mistakes in the transfer market and practically(ok, not Wenger) every manager needs money to improve upon the team and if no money is given the team will get no success whatsoever.

If you count all the buys and sales during Rafa's tenure I would still say he's been average, not great and not poor.

It's is so easy to forget Alonso, Torres, Reina, Masch and even players like Garcia and Benayoun who he got relativly cheaply.
It's not like Chelski's,Manure's, City's, Spurs' mangers haven't made mistakes, it's just that they have gotten money to remedy the situation.

My main issue with Benitez is his philosophy but that is for a different discussion.

so some consider Aquilani a flop now then, bit harsh considered he`s only been fit less than half a season, maybe the fact where in a dogfight atm is more to do with him sitting things out, im sure if things had been diferent and we where playing something close to last season he would of had more starts, lets give the guy some time before writing him off.

anyway on the question of would i trust Rafa with £50million, yes i would but then it all comes down to how many player i have to buy with that money, also how many player im having to replace as opposed to adding to the squad.

am laughin but i totally agree.

And its funny how some fans defence on this matter is that - well he would spend it better than mccleish or hodgson.

Even if thats correct so feckin what ?

Would he spend it wisely ?
My opinion is certainly not. The Keane and Aquilani signings as well as 7 million on Dossena have been catastrophies.
People can go on all they like about fergies poor signings, fact is he has more money to waste.
We might not like it but if we have less to spend, then spend it better.
The last two summers transfer dealings have been shocking.

Well, the question should be:

Do you trust a new manager to get more out of 25 million or Rafa with 50 million?

My answer would be no.

I think a new manager would get more out of the present team than Rafa would with another £50million...... at present the team is playing like its only worth £50million.

this is the part i dont care.

Forgetting the ownership mess for a moment.

Is Rafa getting the most out of the current players ?
The answer if anyone is being honest is obviously no.

And why will things change next season ? (that question isnt to you btw Saint :D )

Not some fans opinion mine exclusively, and Hodgson or McLeish were simply used to imply the notion that I would trust Benitez to spend the money (Hypothetically speaking of course )rather than let a Man I trust less  whoever that man  might be ...

I guess we are all entitled to our own personal opinions eh Lad  ???

of course it is about opinions.

But i am just baffled why people could still trust him with money after what we have seen recently and with turning things around results wise.

If you do fair enough, i just have no clue how.
