The season is over - its time to wipe the slate clean....move on and forward....... expectancy levels next year in the media won;t be high, lets surprise them , rebuild and move forward.

I think everyone here would love Benitez be the man to land us the EPL.
The man has put up with so much :censored: from the owners; lies and promises broken....

The season is over - much prespective I just feel he deserves one last crack

Yes... but the team needs to be reinforced first... we can't challenge for the title with one main striker. Also the squad needs strength in depth to ride over any injuries and lost of form. I would be happy if we can get another proven goal scorer like Huntelaar and another good out and out winger to replace Riera... If we can add these 2 positions without selling anyone, we would be up there challenging. I think we're sorted in the midfield department and even though we could do with some full back reinforcements, right now attacking players are what we need...

All that is of course, if we keep all our star players...

Ya or maybe Bryan Ruiz ( Costa rican dude) and Cordoza at Benfica- neither would break the bank and both as both are relatively unknown

It would be impossible but the topic of benitez needs to given a rest for a while-  everyone is fighting with each other ; everyone wants the best for liverpool- i've had go's @ benitez in the past but you can't argue with the fact that is been a while since so many of our players were coveted by major teams like madrid and barcelona----- some credit must be given to benitez for assembling such an impressive starting 11- maybe this is the summer when benitez shouldn't have to sell the likes of babel and benyaoun---------- these guys are good subs-------- benitez needs to be backed with actual money with no conditions ( i.e. selling players)

I can't remember a season when so many fans wanted so many of our players to be sold mate. Maybe Houllier's last season perhaps ?

The sad thing is I think we may lose at least one of the few players WE DON'T want to sell.

I am sure plenty big teams would have loved Hyypia, Riise, Hamann, Gerrard, Carra, Kewell, Owen under Houllier too mate, the difference being we weren't a selling club then, maybe this season we will find out that's just what we have become.  :(

And you're right - fair enough plenty of  our players were coveted by teams back then too.

What is obvious though is that the media want rafa /torres/gerrard out of anfield just as much as they wanted those tories into government !

None of them would fetch a price like Gerrard, Torres, Reina and Mascherano now though...

But I think we act like the likes of Wigan / Everton/ Sunderland

We need to sell fringe players before we go after a target- this will always put more pressure on the player coming in and the manager; enough money should have been given to benitez on top of what he got for alonso and arbeloa  - we got in Aqualani and Johnson for the ALONSO AND ARBIE deal -   where did the money that was made available before their sales go?

Wouldn't that :censored: you off if you were a manger?

A manager is supposed to get the best out of the players he has, and make the best of the money that is available. You can't get blood out of a stone, its obvious that the money just wasn't there, so you have to make the best of what you have got. We failed.

The choice between Benitez and Hodgson................fuckin hell.

Best prepare for another shite season next year so. :(

In all seriousness
Do you not agree that Hodgsons attitude and approach to football this season has been miles ahead of Rafa?
They gave us a drubbing and lost in a final that we were supposed to pi'ss.
With Zamora as their best player...

I do.

But, then again, I think that a lot of manager's "attitude and approach" have been miles ahead of Benitez.

To me Benitez is stagnant and Liverpool play stagnant football with him at the helm.

However, I just cannot see Hodgson working out at Liverpool. Can't say why though. But, I just don't see it.

Lol feckin unbelievable... I'll let you two be, salivatng about hodgson becoming the next lfc manager...

Stupid cunt.

Can you not read?

What makes you think Im salivating?
Im fu'ckin gutted. I would love Rafa to get his shi't together, admit hes fu'cked up and move forward to become the manager he should he.
Truth is he wont because hes a stubborn, arrogant, stupid control freak who can not or will not change.
He is what he is Im afraid. Thats why were fu'cked.
Im not salivating at all. Far from it...

well thats because times have changed.

relatively they would

back then (summer 2004, when rafa took over)  the highest transfer fee involving a british club was £29.1m - now its £80m.

Ok then if we are paying 20 million for a player nowadays that's the average rate ain't it?
