Not Roy Hodgson for me.

I think he's a good manager, but i think he would be out of his depth at Liverpool.....it would be too much of a risk, but i wouldn't be totally unhappy if he became our manager. i just dont think he has done enough yet..

Question:

why does everyone think our next manager has to have a proven track record or won leagues before?

None of Liverpools title winning managers had won a league trophy before managing at Anfield.

Our current manager who has won league titles before hasn't managed to win the league during his 6 years here.

Big European clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona employ managers who haven't won a league titles before (Guadiola, Schuster) and they won league titles.

Yes, experience is good, but so is a young manager with knowledge and passion.

For me its best man to take Liverpool forward. I dont care if they've not managed a top 4 club before, or not won a league title. Someone who knows their snizzle, good in the transfer market and has pride and passion, and can get the most of of their players. Thats what I want.

He difference is all our title winning managers worked at the club for a number of years before they became manager and we had the boot room back then

yes or no?

No.

Roy Hodsgon can never win Liverpool a premier league title. I can only guarantee every liverpool supporter that. He has no proven league title winning credibility within the major European Leagues such as England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Holland or France.

Anyone seen Fulham's away record over the past two seasons?

FULHAM AWAY

09/10 : P18 W1 D7 L10 F12 A27 PTS 10
08/09 : P19 W3 D8 L8 F11 A18 PTS 17

53 points last season, on course for maybe 52 this. Hardly spectacular, a tighter budget they may be on, but where's the evidence he'd do a better job than Rafa??? They've still got plenty of decent players even if they didn't get mugged for them, Zamora, Nevland, Hangelaand, Schwarzer, Dempsey, Johnson, Davies and Konchesky and that said, it's not as if their side is overachieving. Maybe Europe wasn't a bad effort on their part, but mostly done at Craven Cottage.

I'd rather keep Rafa than take a blind gamble with Hodgson, he's the one of the three (MON and McLeish the other two) I would not want here. The others at least have some kind of record worth something, not just midtable and a Euro Disney final.

Anyone but MON.

He only buys overpriced players from the Britain and never looks anywhere else. And he has spent alot of money these past 4 years and achieved nothing.

Not to mention the football is even more boring and predictable.

i wouldn't say he only buys overpriced british players.

If we bought Ashley Young, Richard Dunne, James Milner, Stephen Warnock at the prices he paid for them - it would be fine by me!!

Was about to mention Guardiola until I read your post. It's true and I agree. It would be better if the manager has the experience but I dont mind a manager with passion, charm and fighting spirit to bring back some passion/pride to this Liverpool FC.
