I really hope some other club is insane enough to want him. Juventus leakes gave me hope but it now seems we are stuck with the fool unless we pay him to go away :(

6 years on, £250million spent, won nothing for the last 4 years, battling valiantly for 7th place in the league,  and now he wants 5 or 6 more players ....... if I didn't laugh I would be fecking crying.

God willing it's not MON.

Erikkson wouldn't be a terrible choice

Dunno about rijkaard not sure he has got what it takes.

Jose....... Would be interesting but there are too many clubs out there after him with more money, better squads and less boardroom fiascos than us.

Either way there has to be a massive summer clearout of the players that just do not cut it. Babel, Lucas, kuyt, riera, maxi, insua, el zhar, degen, aurellio.

If Jose would join us, it would mainly due to the fans support and the tradition of the club. Look at what Rafa has done in CL'05 and how long the fans are loving him even after his failures. If he can bring us more than that (which I think he has the capability to), surely he'll be remembered for a long long time.

Oh btw, love how his team dispatched Barcelona (the best football team in the World with Messi) and how his defensive strategy make Mess like nobody. I dont like defensive team but who the fark cares if we are winning with defensive team if it produces result and that's the difference. And I dont think any team in the world with money/resource can easily win over barcelona (e.g. Real Madrid) so no, whoever says the reason of his success was mainly due to him being showered with money.

and what did he do wrong last night then? look to me like he played his strongest attacking team given the injury situation and told them to go out and play with passion and in the first half thats exactly what they did.

the lads burnt themselves out for Rafa last night. First half they were great but theres no way the team could keep that pace up for 90mins let alone 120 mins.

heres some of the stuff thats come in, (not word for word)

Liverpool have told Rafa he will not be the manager here next year and is free to look for another job.

Liverpool are sacking Rafa due to links with his agent and other clubs as Rafa is stil under contract.

Rafa has taken the juventus job after the end of the season and will say he is leaving later today

heres one that seem to stand out a bit........Rafa agent has been talking to other club, Liverpool have been unhappy that this has happened and now have the proof they needed and will sack Rafa and due to breach of contract will not have to pay Rafa anything thing, Liverpool have been in talks for 2 weeks with another Managers agent.

Wonder if his contract stated that he has to achieve the minimum of fourth or Europa League?

I still think he'll be around next season.

He was too slow with his substitutions mate. If he could only have taken Benny off before he scored, A.Madrid wouldn't have gone looking for another goal, the game would have ended 1-0 and we would have won on penalties........ All Rafa's fault   :D

the thing was when the owners was pushed to say what goals were set for Rafa they onnly stated to be in the CL next year, i dont think going out of the EL last night has anything to do with it, there minds wouldhave been made up sometime ago in we dont ended up in the top 4.

It dont seem strange that the leakes coming out of other clubs have bulit since we did not look like making the top 4.

there has been talk for sometime that our club have a action plan in place to get a new manager anyway, at xmas they was lots of talk about JM having a chat with the chairman at out club at that time.
I now dont think he will come here due to what he is asking for (over a 100mil to spend on players)

there is also a lot of talk today that MON will leave his job at the end of the season, you can only to two and two and come up with that he might be our next manager.

i dont like the guy but that has nothing to do with how he works, i think he is very good at his job and do well here but can us fans take him as our manager...not sure.

Martin O'neill as our manager I wouldnt like.

His Villa team at the moment although have challenged for the top four, are incredibly one dimentional. If they cant get past the opponents full backs then they are just essentially a long ball team. He has actually spent quite a bit of money at Villa as well, and quite a lot has been wasted. If anyone thinks that Rafa's football is boring then prepare to die of boredom if O'neill comes in.

It would pain me to see that man jumping up and down in his tracksuits for liverpool.
