Maybe pushing johnno further up might give us a right sided bale! Kelly all day at full back. Let's have agger and Wilson as cb too.

has the potential to be a top defender. Needs to fine tune his technical aspects.

His defensive abilities for such an age is excellent and he is quite big!

got to say though the Mancs really started to exploit his inexperience towards the end of the game, I counted three players at his side of the park at one stage! Giggs was also running at him a lot and that was making me nervous at times

he's only 20 though and I thought he was class today

I felt the sameway mate.. I was like ''oh cr@p!'', but he looked composed throughout and his game reading is excellent.

Kelly has tons of skill, size, poise.  He's the future at RB, or CB.  I wouldn't write off Johnson though.  He looks versatile enough to play on the wing, if all of these players are getting shouts to have a rebirth under KK, then why not Johnson?

Kelly played well against the Mancs, and he defended much better than Johnson ever did. Perhaps Johnson can move into right mid.

Another assured performance. I posted earlier in the season after his performances early on in the Europa League. He looks an excellent player. Very good touch, bags of confidence etc. etc. A probable successor to Carra in the centre but with the flexibility to cover the full back positions as well.

i was with my Manc mate watching this match and he kept asking me why is it we played a girl on the right side of defense :D (Kelly) but in the end, he was very very impressed by Kelly. and so was i. superb performance. Johnson isnt missed at all.

Anyone on here want Johnston back?

more to the point, does Johnson want to be here?

Simply cannot be dropped after his performance yesterday. Johnson pushed into RM gives the side s real solid right side and much more balanced than we have had of late as Johnson is a natural wide man whereas Kuyt, Meireles, Cole etc are not!

Id rather keep him at full back where hes needed and push Johnson on the wing. People are thinking about him becoming a centre back in the future but we have the likes of Wisdom, Wilson, Ayala and Coady 4 that and with us looking at the likes of shawcross and sakho i think its best if we kept him at right back.

I was thinking aswell if Johnson comes back into the team against Blackpool and Kelly is dropped with Kuyt on the wing. I know its Kenny and i dont want 2 ruin the feelgood factor but i would start 2 think "here we go again, sticking to the same old :censored: that doesnt work".

I really hope we see Kelly and Johnson together on the right side of our team.

Kenny again today singled him out for his excellent performance on Sunday and both he and the other youngsters will take a great encouragement from that and from his appointment more generally. He's got good attacking abilities, but is also a big, athletic lad not afraid of getting stuck in so I'm not sure whether I see him predominantly as RB or a CB in the future, but in either case I can see him being at the club for many years to come.

I can see Kelly being Carra's replacement, he stands out in almost every game he plays.

i think that's probably going to be the young lad wilson's position as he's got champions league experience already at centre half for Rangers. And to be honest i've been really surprised that he's not been given more of a chance in the team.

For me it has to be the rught hand partnership of kelly and Johnson becuase lets be honest johnson is not a right back but he's got pace, delivery and goals going forward. i know this is a BIG statement but i think he will end up taking walcotts position in the england team if he plays there regularly

Martin Kelly and Danny Wilson are the centre half pairing for the future of Liverpool Football Club with both displaying the kind of committment, ability and attitude to become a future captain of LFC!
