Over his time at Liverpool he never really did enough and hes the same player that came in, we need people that go beyond that.

No sense whatsoever as long as players as Hendo and Lucas are on the payroll. ..

Though I would have kept Allen over Hendo and Lucas, there's no hiding from the fact that all 3 aren't really good enough to take us forward. I wouldn't mind if all 3 were sold and decent replacements were brought; the only risk is replacing too much too soon

This guy needed sold about two seasons ago.

Been average at best for us.

Almost getting our money back for him one year before he's out of contract is great business.

Forget the Euros, anyone can have a good tournament. Where was that player for the last 3 years?

In the local papers here they are saying that Swansea are looking to rival Stoke's offer and that Allen prefers the idea of returning to Swansea, either way prior to the euro's we were looking at 10 million and now 13.5 million, for a squad player with only 12 months remaining on his deal is not bad at all

Think we only payed 15 million for him to begin with

Not bad, considering he only started 6 league games last season.

Sunday Telegraph are reporting Joe will meet Mark Hughes at Stoke tomorrow and looking likely to complete Stoke move soon, LFC will get more money from them if they finish top 10 this season. Another clever clause inserted into deal by LFC.

you said it right.
i remembered roy evans signing phil babb based on a good WC performance and most recently gerald let anelka go and signed diouf based on his WC performance.
sometimes having a good tournament does not translate into having a good league performance.

I agree. Good business to get shut at £13.5m. When Joe's confidence is low he will return to the frustrating 5 yards backwards or sideways pass and basically offer the team nothing. It has been incredibly frustrating to actually witness the talent Joe has when his confidence is high. He performed consistently at a high level for Swansea. Like many players the move to a club with far greater expectations was too hard to handle until recently when Liverpool had very little to play for.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years (10 years
are in brackets)
LFC £255m (£467m)
Everton £38m (£287m)
Arsenal £645m6 (£925m)
Spurs £510m (£541m)
Chelsea £788m (£1007m)
Man City £307m (£1012m)
Man United £702m (£1249m)

Good luck to him. He can at least go to Stoke with his head held high. If he performs consistently they've build a pretty decent side going into next season

Feel like we could do with another midfielder in now

Can't stop thinking we missed something with Allen ,Could be Rodgers ,Injuries ,The lads confidence...Still think he has great football smarts which we hardly utilized.

And what drives my head the most is that Allen is gone yet Hendo and Lucas are still here.

If there is one positive so far this transfer window is that we are moving the deadwood as quickly as possible under Klopp.

This stuff usually use to just fester away in the past.
