That's a really good shout actually, Kelly would easily become better than Skrtel and Wilson could be just as good if not better than Agger.

He needs and deserves his chance on a regular basis.

I still think playing Johnson in front of him on the right is worth a try.
It's not as if we have good wide attacking options in that position at the moment, or in fact for the last few years.

I think he will be a good player for us but I'm guessing the opponents hasn't seen him much and were suprised by his speed. But i'm sure now team will take note of that. He did played well last night but his marking on Headers still need to improve. But our RB position is for his to lose.

He's gonna be a very good player.  Already is good.

No, your not MH.

he shone again yesterday and it's great to see some youngsters worth a shout in the side at last.

I'd have him in RB over Johnson any day of the week.

Must be tough too to get up after that fall just before the goal, looked painful, only just seen it on SSN now.

With Carragher out I can see a perfect opportunity to get Kelly into the heart of the defence, I'm sure he's a better bet than Skertel.

I would rather him there than Skrtel any day. Put Johnson back at right back and Aurelio left back, sorted.

Martin Kelly is currently better than Johnson at RB.
He is better than Konchesky at LB.  More reliable than Aurelio at LB.
And he is probably better at CH than Skrtel.

He should definitly be first 11 at the moment.

Agree with all of that, the main problem for me is Skrtel though.
He is costing us goals regulaly.

I'm better at centre half than Skrtel. The bloke's a liability.

On Kelly though, I haven't been as excited about a young prospect at our club for a long time.

I haven't felt this encouraged by a newcomer since Steve Gerrard. I hope that isn't the kiss of death but he does look very promising indeed.

agree.

First choice back four:

Johnson  Kelly  Agger  Aurelio

The only thing that back four is missing is the aggresion (aggresion in a good way). This is where the greek / skrtel / Carra come in. Kelly is a tough tackler and strong, but is young and lacks that little bit of aggresion / commanding presence. At the moment of course, but I can see him getting it with experience
