But just don't say "Rafa's W*nk" when we lose, and "Rafa's W*nk" when we win.

It makes no sense. You don't get results like last nights through sheer luck.

(And that's aimed at everyone it applies to, and no-one it doesn't.)

i have never said "rafas W*nk"

I have said he places too much emphasis on the champs league and not enough on the premier league. and i will continue to lambast the guy over the league but will still applaud him and bow down to him when it comes to amazing nights like last night.

some people on here tho are more fickle lol.

But as for at the moment, the guy is class, and i wont get into any arguaments in this thread. as on here all we all wanna do is congratulate the team on a great result

Cordoba to undergo operation as Ronaldo continues recovery

Milan - Inter Milan defender Ramiro Cordoba will have to undergo surgery to treat a knee injury sustained during Tuesday's Champions League defeat to Liverpool, the club's website reported Wednesday. The Colombian defender, 31, damaged a ligament in his right knee in the second half of a round of 16 game Inter lost 2-0 at Anfield.

Cordoba is a mainstay central defender who joined the Italian champions in 1999. His club did not set a date for the surgery, but the player is likely to miss the return match with Liverpool on March 11, when Inter will be without his defence team-mate Marco Materazzi, who was dismissed in Liverpool.

Brazilian star striker Ronaldo, meanwhile, is set Friday to leave the Paris hospital where he was operated on last week for an injury similar to Cordoba's.

The ANSA newsagency reported that Ronaldo, 31, will continue the rehabilitation of his left knee in Paris until the end of February. His club AC Milan expect him back on the pitch by the end of the year.

MANCINI - WE CAN GO THROUGH

Roberto Mancini is 'convinced' Internazionale can turn around a 2-0 deficit against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

Late goals from Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard secured last season's beaten finalists a potentially decisive advantage in the last 16 tie.

Inter had Marco Materazzi sent off in the first half at Anfield and Mancini is upbeat about the prospects of reaching the quarter-finals.

"They put us under pressure from the start and didn't let us play much," Mancini told Sky Italia. "They closed down every space and pressed us very hard.

"They slowed down a bit as the minutes ticked by and we didn't risk much.

"It's normal to meet a few difficulties when you're playing away from home against a great opponent in a stadium like this. Unfortunately we paid dearly for Materazzi's sending-off. Everything was much harder with 10 men. With 11 against 11 it would have been a completely different match.

"Everything went well up to the 85th minute, and we held up without conceding too much. We should have been a bit more careful.

"We'll have to score three goals in the return leg and it won't be easy, but I'm convinced that it's possible.

"I didn't play Patrick (Vieira) from the start because he didn't have many minutes in his legs. I thought he could be more useful in the second half, and I was obviously hoping for it to be 11 against 11. However, he did well when he came on."

Milan were outplayed last night, but dont let the result give you too much hope that we have turned any corners at all.

Last night was a fantastic performance from the lads, there is no mistake but they have shown that they cannot keep that level of performance up week in week out consistantly. Out of the 11 that started most played very well, but I do feel that Kuyt was out of position and looked limited (despite the goal which was well taken) and Sami looked shaky at times.

I was also shocked by the substitution of Babel who was a constant threat. I actually thought that arguably our best player was Aurelio, he got up and down all night and looked assured.

Rafa got everything right, and I do not want to be seen as someone who is wanting to dampen the ardour of everyone here. But one good result does not mean we are going to win anything.

It will still be a massive accomplishment if we go to the San Siro in three weeks and go through.

so we're rotating managers now...

bigmick, will there be any 'knock-on' effects regarding this? or will the managers be more fresh in the second half of the season? will they be able to manage with fluidity? or will one manager have difficulty finding the other at melwood? :D

Just loved the way we exploited the wide area's. Time and time again we ran them ragged particularly down our right flank . Don't think Finnan has got much of a mention in this thread but for a fullback he was one of out best attacking players.

Gerrard  looked more of a menace when he dropped back a bit (after Lucas was replaced )

Still baffled as to why Crouchie isn't given more time to work on an understanding with Torres  (and other forwards) , Crouch wins the majority of high balls into the box and yet his nod downs rarely find the close support they deserve.

I found the game a bit frustrating and was obviously happy when we scored, especially after having such an amazing amount of possession.  Crouch was fcking ace when he came on and Inter were sh!t scared of him. I thought the ref got it wrong with the 2 yellows leading to the red card but even before that we were totally dominant.

Can't believe there was only one Italian playing in the Inter side... a superb defensive display from them for 85 mins though.

Stevie... what can you say about this man?  I haven't got the words  :bowdown

i thought stevie was a lil static tho. not moving as freely as usual. and just did not look happy. masherano was my man of the match by far.

maybe not static, he wasnt running with the ball half as much as usual tho

That was a really good read this morning... spot on
