LIVERPOOL vs READING: 15/03/08 - 3pm - Build up and Match Discussion

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby The_Rock » Wed Mar 12, 2008 5:04 am

Since we are on such a roll (I think we should be the form team at the moment)...and the fact that i hate steve coppell and reading....i take it upon myself to start a match thread...  :p

No excuses here.....we should :censored: reading. Steve coppell is a manc and the 3-1 defeat was the start of our bliiiiiimmmmp.  I also hate the player hunt.....one of the most dirtiest players in the league (and his hairstyle is one of the worst i have seen).

Enough of my rant... This is the team I like to see.

                 Reina
  Arbeloa Carra Skertel  Riise
      Mascherano  Alonso
  Babel                       Kewell
               Gerrard
               Torres

Should be win....but since all reading know is to kick our players all over the pitch....i will take a 1-0 win here.

Just a thought here, if we win all over games from now on to the end of the season...we would win the champions league. Thats a given. But we may also be able to win the premierleague too seeing how manure and arsenal are not in good form themselves.....

Too right... he is a bit of a !@#$ isn't he.

Don't even want to contemplate the possibility of the premiership title at the moment to be honest..... It's out of our hands and is completely up to Arsenal and Man U to lose it.

So to borrow a phrase from Rafa, let's concentrate on the next match and then see the possibilities later.....

Reading are a tough tackling team and we need a bit of steel or a lot of pace to counteract that. So seeing as we are at home, I say we go for all out attack and leave them chasing shadows.

                   Reina

Arbeloa    Carra    Skrtel    Aurelio

               Xabi    Masch

        Kuyt    Gerrard    Babel

                   Torres

Don't rate Pennant, so despite Kuyt's lack of pace, he's still the best option we have at wide right (in this formation) at the moment. Can't say that I'm a big fan of the 4-2-3-1 formation but it seems to be working right now.... so if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

3-0 Gerrard, Torres and Xabi

No messing around.

We need to win because Everscum will definitely beat Fulham, who are doomed anyway.

If we stick to the same team this should be a easy win, but Rafa must look at Reading with danger in mind, they have been on a bit of a run just of late and are trying to make sure they dont slip into the bottom 3.

This will be a harder game than the CL one, if we put the right team out we could win 3-0.

I can see this being a draw. It is typical for Liverpool to be on such a great roll and then to draw to Reading.

This should be no problem.

I would like to see crouch get a run out in this one, he needs a game to keep him fresh. We dont know when we might need him.

Any chance Agger might be back for this one?

Dodgy one this, look at las weeks results for the teams in CL action. All season teams hav sufferred after playin in Euro football durin the week, so I'm takin nothin for granted.

Team wise, I'd be doin what Rafa's done for the las few weeks and start with the strongest and bring on subs when the games beyond doubt, so sorry Crouchie, ur warmin ur backside again.

Tonites games will be intrestin for Readin, they could well be deeper in the mire by satdy and even more desperate for points. This aint a foregone conclusion by any means.

Steve Coppell is a scouser actually, but he's still a cu.nt
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

One thing in our favor again this weekend is we can set the pace for 4th with everton playin sundy, so IF we can get another damn good victory it'll be a bit demoralisin for ugly boy moyes and his little people. Every point and goal is vital between now and the derby, specially with us playin 3 massive games on the bounce.

I hate these b@stards for screwing up our title chances this year.  I hope we wipe them out.

I do think we need to go back to 442 for this game, because they are going to come to defend and we need more attacking players on the field.

It's a shame we've hit form at the point where Chelsea play the diabolical Derby and the weak Sunderland.

If they had tougher games we may have made up some ground on them. They are five clear with a game in hand.
