He does alot for the team and that is why he plays every week, as you claim to know so much about football I am surprised you do not see it. He is not a good finisher however and I think you are letting that confuse you.

Firstly Kuyt has 7 goals this season already , our second top goal scorer and most of them have been from the right wing . He's not effective when he's upfront alone , he needs a partner up with him like the wigan game . I still think he plays best on the right so against arsenal , rafa should revert him back there . Rafa never drops him or subs him for that matter because if he goes off , there's no one to do the dirty work , to chase for the ball and pressure players . He has been one of the most consistent performers this season when on the right wing but whenever we perform badly the first person to get the stick is always kuyt . He's better than anyone else we have on the right bar stevie and maybe babel . Yossi and pennant are too inconsistent and they  never track back like kuyt does , how many of yossi's and pennant's crosses have resulted in goals , in fact what is their goal ratio like when playing there as well compared to kuyt's ? Pennant has like 2 goals in 50 odd games i think and i'm not too sure about yossi who was equally dross yesterday . Till we sign a "ronaldo" , we will just have to make do with kuyt

Shall we say how right you are about Ashton, does he even play anymore?

Or Pennant for that matter.

Yes you're right Stu, give yourself a pat on the back.

pennant is needed in the side now and hes someone id love to see in the side week in week out given te injury of torres, the form of other players, the way we'r playing..etc etc

ashton is a better striker thank kuyt is.. not even a contest... hes not playing because hes injured.. blah blah

kuyt has always been a sht playeer and the fact that hes scored a few goals early on in the season doesnt justify him getting picked for every game or him not being subbed when he fails to perform... he doesnt add anything to the side when he doesnt score and more often than not i find his contribution to be more detrimental to our chances of scoring than anyting really...

Had to stop reading when you said "pennant is needed"

Agree in general.

Kuyt didn't play brilliantly yesterday, I think it was a tactical mistake to pull Kuyt off the right where he was playing well and scoring goals. But didn't he set up Gerrard for his first and nod back to Benayoun to set up Gerrard's second?!?!? ie played a key part in BOTH goals - or we'd have lost 0-2 / 1-2

If Rafa hadn't spent £20.3m on Keane and bought someone else instead, and become stubborn to the point he is doing everything not to bring him on, then maybe Kuyt would still be on the right and we'd have someone playing striker

If Rafa refuses to use Keane then I reckon Gerrard, Babel, N'Gog or Benayoun need to play up front. It's not as if Keane had a bad game against PSV, bringing on Lucas for Mascherano to use his third sub just tells me Rafa is tactically inept or stubborn
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

if we all try really hard we can have the whole of the first page of the forum full of kuyt threads.

i like dirk kuyt. i think he does a good job as an inside right, right midfielder, wide attacker, whatever its called where he plays. this season he has played to a pretty good level and has even made plenty of genuinely good first touches. he offers plenty to the team without being magnificent.

yesterday, though, he was diabolical.

get a grip lads, evertime we drop points is someone gonna start a "Dirk Kuyt is the worst thing since aids" thread? He had a shocker yesterday, but hes having to play a lone striker role when his physical attributes arn't suited to the role (ie, no pace or required strength). Carragher scored another own goal yesterday, struggling to get into position because he was too busy having a go at the referee. Yet come today, not a single bad word said about him. Double standards as usual. Andreas Dossena was at fault for both goals, and was toasted by Bernard Mendy more times than I could count in the first 30minutes before he had to move to fullback to cover McShanes injury but you choose to open another Kuyt-bash, no suprises to see who started yet another negative Liverpool thread. Fo Dne - the human equivalent of the credit crunch.

Why is he in the team?

He runs around alot and thats about it. Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano are there to work hard, they do all work hard and press the ball. Even Arbeloa and Torres put a shift in, so does Keane. Surely he's got to go now. He's not upto it, never has been and never will. Where are all these people now who were telling me how wrong I was about this player last season and to remember Henry and Drogba etc etc.

You really do specialise in talking utter shight !!

Kuyt has got a thread with all the facts - why start another one?

You seem to have forgotten just how valuable Kuyt's goals were earlier in the season and now blame him when the entire team aren't playing well. Mascha is struggling and can't complete a pass to save his life! Rierra has been off it for the last few weeks. Gerrard even though he has scored a few goals has been well below par. Babel has not got the brain for the premiership. Keane doesn't score. Dossena - no comment. Lucas - is he really Brazilian. Benayoun is far to inconsistent. ALL THIS AND YOU STILL BLAME KUYT !! Ffs open your eyes.

Absolutely zero need for another Kuyt thread when we've already got THIS ONE.  Particularly since thread opener is a rehash of what's been said time and time again in the original thread.  Get a clue, lad. :no
