But regardless of the transfer fee. Jovanovic does not, as a player, warrant a 50K/Week salary.

That's the point.

that'll be because he was free. same as joe cole's wages being astronomic because he was free aswell.

A lesson to be learned here, they are free for a reason !

Listen... We all know what John Henry said and we probably have some marginal players on too high a payroll and it's a good idea Kenny and commoli relook at the squad and clean it up. But gone are the days where we can pay a squad player 40k a week or so. Chelsea and city have spoiled the market. And I'm pretty sure Rooney earns higher than Gerrard. Probably even spurs players may earn higher than hours. We have to stay competitive...

This summer is going to determine whether Agger has a future at the club or not. I don't think the injury itself has ruled him out I feel the medical team have made the decision for him. He has from now until the start of the season to get to the bottom of his injuries. Now if this cannot be resolved and the injuries put well and truly behind him there is only one thing left and that's to say goodbye.

It's such a pity if it has to come to that because on his day he is right up there with the Nemanja Vidic as the best defender in the Prem, but we don't need a player that is only fit for half a season at that.

though he is injured often, i wouldn't make the hasty decision and sell him as he is easily one of the best defenders in England. would give him another season. it speaks volumes about his ability that Milan saw him Nesta's replacement.

agreed.
yet another season we are left short at the back due to his consistent injury problems and the medical team seriously need to reassess both him and aurelio.
both these guys are brilliant when on form and worth their places but sadly injured way too often.
shame though as i really like the lad and would hate to see him wearing any other clubs shirt.
lets hope the medical team can sort him out once and for all.

You have to look at minutes played to determine value for money, compare with our mates Kuyt and Lucas etc..

I feel kinda sad for him... He has tremendous potential... very classy on the ball... if he bulked up he would've been able to withstand the physical nature of the league better... but now he seems very skinny... don't know if he's even having some medical/health problem rather than fitness problem...

I spotted that too. Looks scarily thin at pre-season training!!

When he first came year he was bigger and has continued to lose weight for whatever reason, I remember hearing that he eats a lot too so I don't know why he keeps losing weight.  Maybe it's advice from the physios to help with his injuries? ???
