I don't remember many good things this season. Just failure after failure, and excuse after excuse. The jobs not too big. The manager is too small.

What happens during the summer will be crucial.
Despite recent performances I honestly believe that we have the makings of a very good team (Coutinho, Can, Sakho, Ibe, Markovic, Sturridge, Sterling, Ilorri etc) but it's obvious that those players need some sort of on-field catalyst to give them direction. Imo that catalyst needs to be one, if not two quality midfield players (Kovacic/Pjanic etc).
One of the oldest adages in footy is that games are won and lost in midfield and it's true, our midfield is just not good enough and hasn't been for a good while now.
If we start next season with a CM pairing of Henderson and Milner then we are fvcked, they aren't bad players but they aren't quality players either, they are yeomen not the artisans we need.
United are being heavily linked in the press with Bale, Hummels and Kane, we are not going to close the already considerable gap between us and them by answering those purchases with the likes of Milner and Ings.
Infact if United get Bale that will be it, they will join Chelsea and City among the 'uncatchables', whatever you think of Bale he is a very effective player especially in a league like the prem where pace and athleticism carry a lot of weight. Backed up by the likes of Rooney and DiMaria he will go through the lesser lights in the division like a dose of salts.

Yesterday was again a massive let down  Kicking the ball sideways and backwards in our own half is typical of how rodgers sets us up. He can hide behind suarez leaving, gerrard going and no striker all he wants but its his tactics and coaching that have been the real reason why we have been so poor all season.

Maybe because Rodgers seems to be comfortable working with young or british talents ? Isn't he on a quest to prove that british players are every bit as good as their Spanish and French counterparts ? I am not kidding. He actually mentioned this.

Exactly...winning breeds confidence & success while the opposite is true playing for a tactically inept, clueless egomaniac. As soon as we string together a couple of wins he will go on the national TV professing our challenge for title, then proceed to screw up the next half a dozen of games. This man is a liability to this club and only the same gutless owners wanting a yes man at the helm keeps him here. It's clear that players don't want to play for him judging by our performance on the field.

I'm one of those who wanted Moyes to stay because I knew that's ManU royally screwed for yet another season but United took a decisive action and looks like it pays off big time, and they will be pushing further ahead and get back to the top sooner while some of our fans choose to keep their faith staying on a sinking ship...some called it "The LFC Way". Some of you who are defending Brendan despite seeing the team playing crappy football weeks after week, could it be that you're also a closet Mancs wishing for us to be out of contention by Oct season after season?

Or maybe it's Brendan weaving his hypnotic magic and sparkling teeth to bring some of us down to his low standard, a standard where he is comfortable having won nothing managing such illustrious clubs like Watford, Reading and Swansea? Whatever it is, I'm comfortable being called a plastic fan after having supported this club for the past 44 years than seeing a clueless manager with zero track record having us play rubbish football and easily getting outclassed by such heavyweights like Tony Pulls, Tim Sherwood, Alan Padrew etc and pull the club down to mid-table where he belongs....in fact I believe his level are more suitable for Championship club level if it's not for the fact that he have wasted >£230M for him buying mostly a bunch of dross...yeah sure we must be so unfortunate not have an out-and-out striker this season right? gtfo you wankers

Awesome..... Your post just sums up my feeling. We have Klopp and Rafa looking for clubs this summer. It would be criminal to stick with Rodgers. If Klopp and Rafa were unavailable...I would be more inclined in giving Rodgers more time. But they are available....

I haven't seen Balotelli play this bad for any other manager.... Rodgers had actually made Balotelli look worse than he really is. This is the striker who 3 years ago terrorized the whole German defence in the euro championship. And look at how he is being deployed here.

You know what..... I haven't seen borini play this bad before (and I have seen him play for sunderland). I haven't seen lambert play this bad (and I have seen him play for Southampton). Rodgers is not as good as some say he think he is.....

I too think that Brendan is making Balotelli look much worse than he is. In fact if we were to change manager and Balo was kept on, I think we'd see a much better player, though there'd be other factors of course.

I honestly don't think Brendan does anything well. Maybe he's cursed but all he's touched this season has turned to sh*t. How he has so much backing I'll never know. Even the so called "experts" such as Lawro defend him.

Both souness and dalglish were in their mid twenties when they signed for us and were ready made players. They had an impact from the get go and didn't need babysitting. You are beginning to sound like rodgers comparing players from eon's ago.

That's what I am saying, Souness was 24 and Dalglish 27 when they signed for us, some fans are writing off players at 20 and 21. Believe me Souness and Dalglish turned in plenty of cr@p performances themselves in their early 20's while they were learning their trade.

Sadly,  I have no confidence we are going to bring the right players in this summer. We couldn't do it with all that momey from the Suarez sale and CL footy and dread to think what ***** we are going to end up bringing in this summer
