Exactly s@int. Rafa tries to be clever with the media, I don't think his English is up to it or he himself is up to it. He's better off stating the length of his contract at Anfield and stating "I am not thinking about leaving" - the latter could easily be true because the timescale of the statement is ambiguous ie he could mean "I am not thinking about leaving (at this very second)"

We'll see what happens in the summer, he could still walk or could still be pushed. Maybe it would be true to say even he doesn't know his future for sure, unless he is leaving in which case he does.

Last question was "does that mean you are staying then?"

Rafa's reply...... "It means our next game is against Athletico Madrid"  :O

He has had numerous chances to clarify his position yet doesn't ........ and still people think he is some sort of fecking saint.

Fabio Capello has turned down the chance to take over at Juventus to concentrate on England’s World Cup campaign.
The England manager was contacted earlier this week by the Turin club, but immediately rejected the approach.

Capello, who still has two years left on his contract with England, made it
clear he is totally focused on leading the country to South Africa this summer.

Thats the way to do it....

will that make any diffrence to you and those that want him out ?

Rafa complains too much. he has a 4 your contract so why does he expect the owners to constantly reassure him?

Broughton is an experienced, senior businessman and should kick his :censored:. Shut up and get on with your job.

Who has been linked with his job ?

More like him being touted by his agent for other jobs.

He doesn't need to clarify his position every time the media starts jizzing themselves. He just signed a new contract last year and just signed an English youngster. These rumors are 100% BS. This is stemming from Juve trying to unsettle Liverpool into getting rid of Rafa.

Kind of like the way Madrid got Figo, that initially had no substance.

RAFA BENITEZ last night threw his future as Liverpool manager into fresh doubt by revealing he has NEVER received assurances over his job.

The news will cast a shadow over tonight’s vital Europa League semi- final against Atletico Madrid at Anfield, when Benitez’s men must over-turn a 1-0 first- leg deficit. Reign

But, with Juventus waiting in the wings to capture Benitez, it could well be the last big night of his six-year reign.

When asked if anyone from the Anfi eld boardroom had sat down with him and given assurances over his future, he replied pointedly: “No.”

He added: “For one year I have been listening to stories about Martin O’Neill taking my job or Klinsmann, Mourinho, Rijkaard or Hiddink.

“But I have to keep doing my job. All I can do is focus on the next game.

“The opportunity to be in a European fi nal is massive for any club. We have some problems with injuries, but we will be ready for the game.

“I have read in the Spanish press Atletico players saying there is not much difference between the atmosphere at the Calderon and Anfi eld, but there is a massive difference and hopefully we will see that.”

Despite the doubt over his future, Benitez continued to build for the future when he completed the signing of Charlton youngster Jonjo Shelvey for £1.7m.

The 18-year-old midfi elder has passed a medical and agreed personal terms, and will complete his move to Anfield on May 10.

Benitez seems to enjoy being the centre of attention and its anyone guess what his latest is outburst is meant to achieve. The only time he opens up to media is to talk about himself, any other time he just mucks about and gives them nothing. I get the feeling he just like to play games and so hes either looking for an excuse to bail out and blame the owners or hes cheek enough to be looking for a contract extension. Either way hes paid good money and sitting on a 4 year deal. If I where the owners I would remind him of that and tell him to keep his mouth shut and do his job. Weve a big match tonight but again hes muscled in on a high profile game to grab some headlines for his own personal agenda.
