Agree with this totally.

So winning La Liga twice was mysty too.. and when Rafa's Valencia side visited Anfield and played us of the park, we were deluded then too..

Look Istanbul was astonishing
Apeearing in the World Club final was good
FA Cup was great
League cup final was fun too
Champions League Final appearance was good too
Winning the super cup wonderful

Finishing 3rd and 2nd was apsiring to league success..

Not a bad record - I'd say if this makes us deluded, then deluded I stay.

Where does all this leave Arsene Wenger ... no trophy for 5 years..

Mis-judged Rafa's abilities - in the climate this club finds itself I'm surprised the man ain't lost his marbes.. or has he  ???
THE BRENDAN REVOLUTION IS UPON US !

KING KENNY.. Always LEGEND !

RAFA.. MADE THE PEOPLE HAPPY !

Miss YOU Phil-Drummer - RIP YNWA

Dont think he said you were deluded.

Just that Rafa is being seen through tinted specs because of istanbul.
Being given leeway that wouldnt have been afforded if if it were not for that night.
Now i think he earned leeway winning no5, but things are going backwards rapidly.
Using Wenger is an interesting angle, to me he is a decent manager Arsene but also one that (if i was an Arsenal fan) that i wouldnt be happy with.
As a fan i want to be competing for trophies and Arsenal have been trophyless for half a decade and we are fast approaching this.

Thats simply not good enough for either of these clubs, despite what both managers have done in the past.

There isnt a club in the world that wouldnt take Wenger over Benitez, not a single one. If Rafa is to move on it wont be to a better club than Liverpool thats for sure. I think he knows hes gone as far as he can and thats why he hangs in there. If and when he departs it will be step down because despite what many think hes just not one of the top dogs in management. If he was the best clubs would have took him already given all the problems at Liverpool and he would have been happy to go make no mistake.

He fecked up royally not signing Anelka and bringing that pile of sh!te in, and it cost him his job. We were going backwards rapidly.
being challengers for the league to one struggling to get into next seasons europa league.

That's how I remember it. Houlliers reign was a game of two halves and his signings after the world cup had an important bearing on his eventual sacking. I remember this forum at that time and everyone wanted him gone. Our football was awful and we just scraped into fourth. The only person who wanted to keep him was Stu the Red.  :D

If this happens then we have to give a big round of applause to the antis who have been on Rafa's case since this season. Replace a European Cup winner with a no body. Welcome to the :censored: new dark ages.  :(

A bit dramatic I know but seriously if we get in a manager like him in it will say a lot for our ambition. And just imagine what the likes of Stevie and Fernando will think with that kind of appointment. I wouldn't blame either of them for going tbh.

Happy :censored: days.

Yeah, we are much better with a loyal manager like Rafa who would never dream of allowing his agent to tout him to different clubs , lie about prospective owners, and use his "friends" to try to blackmail the club.

Just over a week ago Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon claimed an unnamed Chinese investor was interested in taking over the club and had already spoken to the manager about keeping him on next season.

Benitez subsequently denied Quilon's claims.

If you remember back Rafa's agent said that the prospective new owners would only buy Liverpool IF Rafa stayed on.

Rafa then had to deny it (days later) when it became clear that NO SUCH DISCUSSION HAD TAKEN PLACE.
