Yes, there are everywhere (almost) the sounds of bathroom cabinets being opened and the bottom drawers of many a bedside cupboard are revealing their 'special' paraphernalia in anticipation as we speak....

Look, if he goes he goes. we can shed a tear then start the rebuild. It'll be gutting because he's become part of us all in some way but if he jacks off to Juve then it's for the best for him. we should wave him farewell, thanks for the memories and welcome the new boss, be it whoever.

but we all know the media talk sh!te and he'll be here next season.

I wont shed a tear if Rafa is to go, I honestly think he has taken us as far as he can and we need to freshen things up. I would wish him all the best in Italy or wherever he was to end up, but most people, including at this stage probably even Rafa himself, knows a change is needed

Mate, I expect he'll be here at the start of next season as well....But if he isn't, and if wherever he goes he takes Torres with him, I will personally hunt him down, and shoot him with balls of his own shyte !

What does that say for our ambitions as a club if Torres and Mascherano go as well? We need this investment asap so we can convince our best players that their future lies at Liverpool.

Not much we can do bav if the players want to go . If they think that much of LFC they'll stick around . I feel different about rafa ,because he's given everything for the club and deserves better . So i'll wish him all the best and hope he's a success wherever he ends up . Will be a sad day for LFC in my book . but we will move on . I support LFC and that's all there is to it .

Ian Rush expects Rafael Benitez to stay at Liverpool FC

by Richard Buxton. Published Thu 22 Apr 2010 12:08, Last updated: 2010-04-22

Liverpool goalscoring legend Ian Rush has backed Rafael Benitez to remain at Anfield regardless of what changes take place within the club's hierarchy.

British Airways chief Martin Broughton has been tasked with selling the club on behalf of under-fire owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks, who made their announcement to relinquish power as co-chairmen less than a week ago.

But Rush, 48, does not see a change of ownership in the Anfield boardroom having any bearing on Benitez's future as manager and has called for the under-fire Kop boss to be backed in the transfer market this summer.

He said: "I don’t think that Benitez’s future will be a massive issue personally.

"Of course what needs to happen, for peace of mind as much as anything else, is that the situation gets sorted sooner rather than later.

“All we know at the moment is that the club is up for sale, and that is official. What we must hope for is that any buyer wants, and does, what is best for Liverpool.

“It is positive news; it is what the fans want, a bit of light at the end of the tunnel after a difficult period.”

Attention now turns to tonight's Europa League semi-final with Atletico Madrid where Rush, whose 346 goals see him ranked as the Reds all-time top scorer, feels that his former club can still go onto win the trophy despite the tricky tie in the Vicente Calderon.

"It's not going to be easy in Spain but they're favourites to win it, and justifiably so. I do actually believe that Liverpool will win the Europa League and it's always nice for supporters to see Steven Gerrard lift a trophy," he added.

"With it being the first Europa League final, it's always nice to win it and I do think they will win it."
