Rafael Benitez Would Bring Fernando Torres & Sammy Lee To Juventus From Liverpool
Spanish coach would spark off major change...

Rafael Benitez would make radical changes at Juventus should he join them from Liverpool in the summer, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian paper forecasts wholesale changes and exits for a number of top players to accomodate Benitez's plan for a 4-4-2 system, and the arrival of Fernando Torres.

David Trezeguet, Amauri, Sebastian Giovinco and Vincenzo Iaquinta are likely to vacate the attacking department. The only certainty to remain is Alessandro Del Piero, the club legend whose contract expires at the end of 2011.

Reports this week claimed Benitez has been promised an €80 million transfer kitty. And, he will use this to buy two top-class wingers to suit his 4-4-2, and bring Torres with him from Liverpool.

Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini and Wolfsburg man Edin Dzeko are also targets should the Reds stand in the way of progress for the Spanish international.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport are reporting that John Elkann, heir to the Juventus throne, wants Benitez at all costs, and that Benitez has convinced his assistant coach Sammy Lee to follow him to Turin.

I think this is the report that Ciggy was referring to (in English). If he takes Torres with him....... I for one will never forgive him. Without a doubt Rafa's best signing and our best hope for the future.

Honestly mate , Rafa every time .

Fair enough Igor.

I just wonder how he will motivate the players if we don't get investment in players though, as he has already said that winning the title was an unrealistic expectation this season (when to be fair if we had performed to anything like our best level I think we would have won it!)

Thought it wasn't about money lash  :;):

Thats what I was meaning Igor ?

Maybe just maybe it's once again the media creating headlines as they usually do to increase their own interests ie circualtion

I can tel you who "Rafa's People" are.

First one is his agent

then theres his PA team.

then there is Rafas friend (Rafa himself, this come out during the contract talks).

it just might be the case that as we will end up with new owners Rafa is testing the water to see if how much he is worth to the club and see if they offer him more money to stay?.

According to Italian daily, Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are closing in on a deal with Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez and have begun to recruit his backroom staff at the Spaniard's request.

Juventus chief John Elkann has made Benitez his number one choice to succeed caretaker coach Alberto Zaccheroni this summer.  Juventus reportedly held a conference call with Benitez's agent, Manuel Garcia Quillon on Monday night in which they discussed a timetable for the coach's Anfield exit.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Benitez has agreed in principle to sign a contract worth €4.5m a season and that he has accepted to reduce his backroom staff from twelve to six people.  Juventus have been given a list of their names and they have now begun approaching them to join the Turin based club.

The staff requested reportedly includes West Ham's fitness coach Antonio Pintus, Benitez's current assistant Mauricio Pellegrino and his chief scout Eduardo Macia.  It also includes Anfield fitness coach Paco De Miguel who previously worked for Atletico Madrid and ominously for Liverpool has a good relationship with Fernando Torres .

Benitez has also stipulated that Juventus hire Amedeo Carboni as director of sport, who the Liverpool manager worked with successfully at Valencia. The final appointment would be Mauro Pederzoli, who now works for AC Milan having been a scout at Liverpool. He was also once director of sport at Torino.
