it's ok. We are still trying to have the current one doing/learning the hard part. Not sure if it's his favorite but he surely has the ability to gain a spot though.

Well you can't argue with that mate, if that's your opinion then fair enough. I hope your right because I'm absolutely convinced Rafa will be at Liverpool next season.

For all Rafa's faults, the ability to play the media game to his own advantage in terms of a "quote from an insider here", or a "well placed source" there is one of his strongest points. My feeling is that the Juve speck-you-lay-shun is Rafa's people's way of making it clear to any new owners that he is still very much in demand in World Football. Expect "interest" from Madrid as well over the next few weeks to re-enforce the point, with the end result being that any new owners (or indeed old ones) come to the conclusion that spending 16 million quid to get rid of a manager who is quite good, and signing up to the inevitable "rebuilding process" is daft from a purely business sense.

Rafa stays, and we see where he takes us. At least the reasons for not quite hitting the hieghts we'd all like are well and truly already in place. They were used this season even though we outspent Man Utd by miles and Arsenal by a long way, so I've no doubt that next season managing to finish in the top half will be lauded as a masterstroke.

Now it's "Rafa's People " spreading the Juve rumours ? What next is he going to get the stick for ? Who are "Rafa's People ". Was it also "Rafa's People " who were spreading around the Madrid rumours last season ?! . Maybe just maybe it's once again the media creating headlines as they usually do to increase their own interests ie circualtion

The Sky fella from Italy is saying Juve are offering Rafa 4 million euro a year wages, and 70 million euro on transfers, Sammy Lee has agreed to leave with Rafa he will also take Kuyt, Mascherano, Aqualiani and will try and bring Torres with him.
And that we have new owners.............

One thing I don't get is if we have new owners then surely we will have more money which means better players. If Torres still leaves after that id be devesatated.

But if he goes then :censored: him, we will rebuild without him.

Why don't you take a bit of a breath before you post? In any case, I thought we'd agreed that you were giving my posts a wide berth?

Nobody is "giving Rafa stick", I'm simply talking about the way things are as I see it. ALL managers have agents, just like all players have agents. The agents job is to ensure their client gets the best deal possible, this they do by starting speck-you-la-tive stories about the various clubs who are showing "interest" in their client. Rafa's people are good at it as they've shown int he past, as is Rafa himself. Don't you remember "the England job might interest me" in the middle of his contract negotiations, or his dallience with all things Real Madrid.

The press are looking for a story and of course any quiet words here or there are blown up out of all proportion. EVERYONE plays the game to a lesser or greater extent, even rafa (it really shouldn't put his sainthood in jeapordy it's OK).

Just chill out, and if you don't want to engage in normal discussion with me give me the swerve. I'm doing my best to do the same with you, it's a two way street.

Which ones were they? We will easily make fourth, Rafa had lost the dressing room or we will have new owners by now.

Benitez is just a manager.

You'll see a good few more come and go before you shuffle off your mortal coil.

...and if whomever comes in as Benitez's replacement (no matter how special they are) fucks things up, then I'me sure there will be talk of it too on the boards.

That's what they're for.

:censored:in hell...some people on here talk about Benitez like he invented LFC or something.

i just don't get it.

bigmick wrote:Right, time for some facts.

1. Mourinho isn't going to be Liverpools next manager.
2. Rafa Benitez will still be in charge of Liverpool for game one next season.
3. Fernando Torres will still be playing up front for us next season.
4. The current owners will still be our owners next season.

There, I hope that clears a few things up for a few worriers. The big question is, if we don't sign anyone of note, what is our ambition for next season? Is it like this one to struggle to get into the top seven, or is it possible given our current squad to dream a bit bigger?

I think Benitez has already answered that on Mick.

Something about "unrealistic"...or something....

Fair enough Igor.

I just wonder how he will motivate the players if we don't get investment in players though, as he has already said that winning the title was an unrealistic expectation this season (when to be fair if we had performed to anything like our best level I think we would have won it!)

If you read the post properley you see that it was tongue in cheek comment  regarding the arguements that occure on here over rafa . Like i say , once he's gone we'll have to start being nice to one another . Get it now. ffs . Not every post on here has to be a derogatory one does it .  :no
