I think it is a bit unfair on the yanks to let them take all of the blame. After all, we are in a global recession, trying to fund a new stadium, banks not lending etc etc.

Rafa has to take some of the flak (65% at least). Say you do give him 50m in the summer, he would go out and buy a load of full backs and holding midfielders!

IMO there is No issue of money, look what Rafa has spent over the past six seasons (prob 150 Million) whether funded by sale of existing players or cash from the board, Rafa has had the cash and not built a strong squad.

I don't think it is hicks and Gillette's fault directly that we don't have Sissoko, Bellamy, Crouch, Keane etc, but instead have Lucas, El Zahar, N'gog, Aquilani and other sub standard players. did the board not fund the 20m asking price for Aqua?? But rafa chose the player. wasted money.
or that Lucas plays over babel, or Kuyt plays out of position?

I like Rafa, nice man, nice smile. But so is my great grandad!

Not getting 4th is disastorous, messing up next season, and someone should pay.

I personally think Rafa has taken us as far as he can.

next up...........Owen Coyle  :p

What does a global recession have anything to do with it when fans are still packing out the stadia and buying the club merchansise, plus sponsorship and TV networks are still willing to pump money into their pockets.

why does he feel the need to tell porky pies over injuries ie torres and aquilani. Its obvious he has given up on fourth place but why say players are injured when they aernt just so people dont get on his back.

Rafas agent has said that he has met with Juventus officials

"I have met (Juventus chairman) Jean Claude Blanc, even if I was in Italy for other affairs," Quillon is quoted as saying by AS.

Rafa's riches: Juventus offer Benitez £16m deal and £70m to spend to leave Liverpool
EXCLUSIVE By JOHN EDWARDS
Last updated at 11:02 PM on 15th April 2010

Rafa Benitez has been offered a four-year deal worth £16million and a £70m transfer fund in the latest attempt by Juventus to lure him away from Liverpool.
Details of the Italian club’s determination to install him in the summer emerged in the wake of a six-hour meeting between the Liverpool manager’s agent and two Juve board members in Milan last weekend.

Club president Jean-Claude Blanc and director Carlo Barel di Sant’Albano told Manuel Garcia Quilon a contract worth almost £4m a year had been drawn up and that up to £70m would be available for new signings.
It is understood potential transfer targets were discussed, with Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko and Fiorentina left back Juan Manuel Vargas figuring prominently, after it was made clear Benitez would demand a complete overhaul of Juventus’s defence.

Benitez has yet to decide whether to continue with a Liverpool contract that runs until 2014 and is aware there could be a vacancy at his old club Real Madrid, with Manuel Pellegrini expected to be sacked.
But Juventus believe the Spaniard could yet be swayed by the terms and conditions in Turin.
Apart from the financial inducements, they are debt-free and on schedule to move into a new stadium next year after being given land to build on.

accept it Rafa its time to leave liverpool FC whether we win in europa league or not this season you've brought LFC some great moments but also some really sour ones too.  Our bread and butter is The League and you've shown your heart for LFC but the failings in the league since your arrival and the poor efforts in the FA & league cups and your constant stubbornness, bemoaning and covering up of your responsibilities as manager with player management, player motivation, player trades in and out just dont cut it with the fans and players anymore.
