going by the press room this morning it seem JUVENTUS  have mad Rafa an offer to be their manager and they need to have a yes or no.

it seem that the only press reporting it right now are the red tops, wonder if SSN will report it?

also in the news room they are saying that Fernando Torres has said he is Staying at Liverpool......weill if they are both true thats two greats bits of good news for the club this moring , all we need now is for the owners to sell the club this moring and it might be the best day ever for the club  :D

I think it's time to start banning over negative posters again, :censored: any strike :censored: too. This place is losing good posters because of the negative comments day in day out. It's depressing and it's killing this forum.

Juventus have given Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez a ten-day deadline to decide if he wants to take charge of the Serie A giants next season.

Rafa Benitez: Disappointing season at Anfield

• Rafa agent rejects Juve talk

Benitez's agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, dismissed reports that he met with Juve president Jean-Claude Blanc in Milan on Monday, but his client remains top of the Bianconeri's wanted list.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Juventus remain "90%" confident of landing their man and widespread reports on Wednesday claim that a meeting between the two parties did take place.

Liverpool, currently lying in sixth place in the Premier League, are likely to miss out on Champions League football following a hugely disappointing season and are not expected to fight off any approach for Benitez.

Juventus have endured a similarly poor season and are under the stewardship of their second manager this year since sacking Claudio Ranieri, now leading Serie A with AS Roma, in May.

Alberto Zaccheroni replaced Ciro Ferrara in Turin and will guide the club through to the end of the season, but not beyond. Whoever replaces Zaccheroni could be handed transfer funds of around £70 million.

Such a transfer budget may prove hugely alluring to Benitez, who has consistently complained about not having enough money to spend at Anfield.

"We have been wheeling and dealing for six years but, if we continue to do that, it will be very difficult to stay at the level everyone is expecting," Benitez reiterated last week.

Meanwhile, Spanish daily Marca have been tipping Benitez to take over at Real Madrid for next season and the Liverpool boss was voted the favourite to succeed Manuel Pellegrini in a poll by the newspaper .

Yes Bav lets start banning people again because their views contrast with some people, great idea.

If we examine this "negative" posting for a second though, perhaps you'll see why I have a problem with it. Take me for example, your classic "negative" poster, lets look at my views in a little bit of detail.

1. I think we've got a really got bunch of players who are more than capable of challenging for the title. This is regardless of the owners, as long as the owners aren't actually playing. Other people such as yourself think such a challenge is impossible given the current structure, but it's me who is negative.

2. I think if the manager were to leave, premier coaches from throughout the World would be tempted by the Liverpool job. I think the kudos of managing Liverpool would have them falling over themselves to take the task on. You and others think that Roy Hodgson wouldn't even consider it, Martin O Neill would laugh at the prospect, and Neil Warnock is about the level of manager we could get. In short you think as a club we are fecked totally, whereas I think things aren't quite as bad as some believe, but it's me who is negative.

3. I think we will win the European Copa Cup. But I'm negative.

4. I think Pepe Reina, Javier Masherano, Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres are World Class players, but I'm negative.

5. I think Rafa Benitez will be our manager next season, but I'm negative.

6. I think it suits the owners having Rafa as manager, as I don't think they fancy shelling out 16 million quid to pay him off. I don't think they overly fancy replacing the whole backroom staff, nor do I think they're up for the rebuilding job which any new manager would inevitably say we needed. Apparently this is a hugely controversial viewpoint, and negative.

7. I don't think Fernando Torres will leave the club just because Benitez stays as manager, but I'm negative.

8. I think next season even if we don't buy anybody at all, given a reasonable run of luck we are capable of challenging for trophies, but I'm negative.

9. I think Liverpool football club ought really to be capable of getting to domestic cup finals and semi finals, even winning them occasionally, but I'm negative.

I could go on and on (as you know) but I hope you get my point. I find YOU and posters of your slant UNBELIEVEABLY NEGATIVE. You have lowered your sights to the extent where if we beat Bolton occasionally you tell us we ought to be over the moon. We cannot possibly challenge for honours, cannot possibly buy any good players and cannot possibly recruit a good manager should we need one.

It is YOU LOT who are negative, that said I don't think for one minute you or anybody else should be banned for it.

we can't ban people for having an opinion bav, positive or negative.

i just find it depressing that the actual football discussion on here is virtually non-existent now. everything is about whether you are pro or anti rafa. even threads which have nothing to do with the manager end up with somebody slagging the manager off. it's tedious.

In a massive poll made in MARCA, this is what the Madrid fans preffer for next season

http://www.marca.com/2010....30.html

Rafa Benitez wins over Mourinho by a short margin.

This is good news for everybody, because the fact that Rafa has got a reputation in Europe he doesn't have in Newkit, is good for the club, as it will be easier to reach a economic agreement in case Rafa has to leave.

Meaning it would be a worse scenario if nobody wanted Rafa.

Igor Zidane wrote:I'm being 100% serious now . I hope he goes now and enjoy's the rest of his life with his family and get's back to being a manager again . He doesn't deserve the disrespectful bile that's being spouted by some . There's only one manager in the history of LFC that deserves the :censored: Rafa is getting and that's the That Rag loving c.unt souness. Hopefully Rafa will be remembered fondlly by supporters and we'll all move on . We'll get a new manager and we'll see where we go from there . Just my humble opinion like , but we'll never do better than Rafa, and whomever comes (big name manager or middle of the road good manager with no budget) in next will have a job and ahalf on there hands to please our fans. We don't know what the summer will bring regarding the owner situation , but it's looking more and more likely that there going . So the next owners and next manager will have a good setup to inherite (good setup .i mean first team and academy ) and if they've got a few bob they can invest in some world class players to make a challenge . If not then god help em .

Really hope he goes now in truth .

Good post.

I don't begrudge him going somewhere where he's actually appreciated by his own fans rather than slaughtered and ridiculed day in day out.

The fact that so many top clubs want the guy says enough for me. No doubt if he left we'll probably look on in envy as he has great success elsewhere while we languish as a midtable club managed by the likes of MON, which is what some people seem to want.
