Are you insane ?

Do you really think he wants to stay at Anfield ? All this trust in Rafa :censored: is just that, :censored:.

He is like the vast majority of people in football, motivated purely by personal gain. He doesn't care about Liverpool, our history or us. He cares about Rafa.

He will leave when it suits him and not us. Don't blame the yanks either, he has been given ample money but spent it badly.

I fear for the future,

Don't agree with your post.

I am very critical of Rafa but I do believe he cares about the club and the yanks do have to take a lot of blame as off field problems will have a knock on effect to the team.

Benitez dismisses Juve again

"Contrary to reports in the Italian media this weekend, I want to make it absolutely clear I have no agreement with Juventus,

I have not and will not be meeting Juventus or their representatives or any other club.

I have a long-term contract with Liverpool and I'll repeat what I said on Friday that I am happy here and my only focus is to do my job as well as I can to get the team back into to the top four, beginning with the derby against Everton."

It is in Rafa's interests to say he has no pre-agreement with Juventus cos if he were to get the sack (which lets be honest is a real possibility) he wouldn't be entitled to any payoff from LFC which could run into a massive sum.

He wouldn't get a massive pay off if he joined Juventus even if he was sacked.

Why would Rafa walk out when he can get a nice big pay off and his P45 in the summer, and then take the Juve job :;):

How's that work then? Didn't Mourhino get a huge sum when he was dismissed from Chelsea and later joined Inter. I think Rafa would be entitled to some payoff, how much one can only speculate. But if it were found out Juve had been tapping Rafa up then they would be asked to pay compensation to LFC. It makes sense that Rafa has said no contract arrangements have taken place.

He didn't say his representative wouldn't be meeting Juve.

I am pretty Cynical I admit. The statement from Rafa is akin to a manager receiving the support of the board only to be binned a few days later.

Guus Hiddink is reported to have terminated his position with Russia - hope someone took notice and will contact him.

I was talking to a Spanish friend of mine (a Valencia supporter) the morning after the Arsenal game and was asking him about Rafa's style at Valencia. He keeps an eye on Liverpool and says that he sees no difference in the style of Liverpool than when Rafa was at Valencia - only the results were better.

He said it was the same formation 4-4-1-1 (with Carew and Aimar instead of Torres and Gerrard), same no-substitutions before 60mins tactic, a series of boring 1-0 wins with a preference to defend rather than attack, that there was an "inner mafia" at the club - Rafa would favour certain players over others despite their quality not matching up - and that he won La Liga in 02 and 04 because Real and Barca were in the middle of a minor slip up.

He also stated that Liverpool will NEVER be a positive, attacking team with Rafa in charge. It's just not his way. Maybe my friend was talking nonsense but hopefully Sabre can confirm.

I know there are a lot on here who will take boring 1-0 wins any day of the week but there are some, like me, who think we should and can be doing more. This is Liverpool, after all.
AND HERE COMES AVI COHEN!! OH I SAY - AT THE SAME END HE'S GOT ONE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Good post and I agree we should be expecting more than we are getting under Rafa.

The salient issue here though, is the fact that that is all we can expect from a team with Benitexz at its helm.

I'm already bored to tears with Liverpools style of play. Liverpool are one of the more tedious teams to watch at the moment for the neutral and it's only the matter of team choice that the games remain "exciting" for Liverpool fans.

The thing is the second half of last season saw us playing some exicting football so I think the potential is there. We just need some fresh blood to shake things up.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.
