Time to think the previously unthinkable?

After watching tonight's game, which was so disappointing after the promise of better things from the Tottenham game, I think the time has come to drop Gerrard.  He is having a terrible season, I'm not sure whether or not it is entirely down to his injuries, but in what is the key creative role in the team, he is just not cutting it this season.  Aquilani was much better in the role against Tottenham.  Maybe it is time to either give Gerrard an extended rest, or to move him to another less important position in the team such as RM or CM, while he is clearly not having the best run of form?

Many people were saying before the game that he should not start.
I just don't know why the obsession with two holding midfielders, FFS this was wolves we were player not fecking Barcelona. Drop Stevie back in place of lucas and play Aquaman.

So are we not trusting Rafa quite so much any more? I'm not saying this to wind people up but I definitely sense a change in the mood, not just on this forum but on many LFC forums. In my option it is long overdue that Rafa goes.

this isnt a Rafa out thread.

Something just isnt right with him this season thats for sure, is it lack of form, lack of motivation with seeing Alonso leave and Barry go to city, lost faith in the manager, who knows, if it is a groin problem and its so bad its effecting his game then something should of been done about it by now because he`s no good to us at the present moment if it is the case, was expecting so much from tonight game after the battling performances against Stoke and Spurs, i wouldnt say drop Gerrard, for me we need to see him out on the pitch with Aquilani and i would drop Lucas.

agree tonights performance was dire and painful to watch.
gerrard didnt contribute tonight and probably should have come off instead of riera who imo looked like the only one trying to create anything.
would also agree to move gerrard back to cm till things improve but feel too much pressure is placed on him to constantly perform at the highest level and win our matches on his own.
if the rest of the team were pulling their weight he'd be given time to fully recover and try to regain some form.
if he stays injury free i can see him finishing the season in great form in time for the world cup.
i hope its not too late for us by then

Rafa has ceased to surprise me. A magnificent team performance and a win against spurs and what does he do?
Drop Aquilani and rush back an obviously unfit Gerrard.
One step forward two back
Nice one Rafa
Showed them there didnt we?
Mighty Wolves...

Then why rush him back to disrupt a winning team?

yer let's drop him, after all no other team in the prem league would take him, let alone anyone in Europe! forget the fact he has just come back from injury, oh sorry a continued injury he isn't worthy of being our skipper, let alone pull on an LFC shirt, so yer fecking sell him cause he shouldn't even be in the sqaud or team in the first place.   (time to think the previously unthinkable?) what a fecking sh1t topic.

gerrard doesn't deserve his place in the side after his first start after injury cause he is an over paid kunt like all the others.

Exactly right.  He's not fit so why rush him back?  It's pointless.  Almost as pointless as suggesting that Gerrard needs dropping because he's been rubbish whilst forgetting that the lad's fecking crocked.  Some people.  :O

So
Hes crocked but he deserves a place?
I never said he needed dropping I said Rafa shouldnt have disrupted a winning team.
What was the need for Gerrard to play tonight considering he has just come back from injury?
