The fact is that Ryan Babel is the laziest player in the current squad.  He's bone idle and until someone gets him by the scruff and shows him how to play he will never reach his full potential.

HIs feining of injury in the City game, and his reluctance to try to carry on was the last straw for me as far as this player is concerned. I said it in the match thread. Get rid ASAP. Useless waste of space, the lazy ill-educated b@astard.

Babel is a sensitive soul in the Heskey mode. He must be nurtured, supported, cocooned, hugged, treasured. As soon as Gerrard shouted at him against City in the first five minutes it was plain to see that he wanted off the pitch. You just cant do that to such a delicate flower. It hurts their feelings...

he is to me like a 5 a side player, that doesnt mean he has a good enough touch, just a player that gets the ball shifts it and looks to shoot.
You can often do that with 5 a side due to the position you will be in.
If he isnt in a shooting position or acres of space he is f'cked.

Thats why i advocated playing him in a 4-3-3 if we had him on the bench and wanted to changed things slightly.

Can't help but thinking now we're out of the League and the CL, other clubs know we're in a difficult position and will tend to offer less for Babel, I would think. I know of I was buying, I'd deffo be offering less if I was going to buy him....

So my only question is how come most of us saw his attitude and abilities ages ago and the one single most important man that should have seen it and act upon it done nothing or worse missed it alltogether?

I mean for how long can we moan and bitcH on this player or the other? When does it become a manager's problem?

Because its the Rafa way
Only when HE feels that way will he act
No matter who says it or how many times its said

where do you start with ryan babel, ok i'll try.

first off i kind of feel the frustration ryan does because he has never been given a run of games in the team, while torres is injured he should be our striker, thats what we signed him as.

stop messing about with the likes of ngog and voronin who are not worth it, voronin is plain outright rubbish, ngog is still learning, he should not under any circumstances be chosen over a proven international.

if babel had played 10 to 15 games in a row you would see a different babel. He would be happy, he would be fit and the bad attitude he has now would be gone.

unfortunately no matter how many games he plays now the damage is done and his liverpool career is over.

what worries me about babel is i think he could still be the next theirry henry, and before you ridicule me think about it, he has all the pace, dribbling flair and skill of henry, he can score with both feet and he is better in the air than henry., the difference is and its a major difference is attitude, henry has has a brilliant one , babel's is rock bottom.

the comments he made dont surprise me any more, but what he should have done is shut up , knuckle down and make rafa want to pick him in a consistent run of games.

i hate him for this and hope its his last game in a liverpool shirt, but he could have been brilliant for us and thats the sad thing.

Dribbling flair ???   Dont you mean the push and run and seen many defenders pick the ball off him when he has tried to dribble

Score with both feet  ???  the reason why the guy constantly cuts onto his right foot is because his left is for standiing on only

Better in the air than henry ??? henry isnt the greatest in the air but never seen Babel be anything lethal in the air

The reason why babel wont get 10 to 15 games in a row is because he doesnt deserve the chance - when he does get a start he disappoints beyond belief .

Courtesy of the Liverpool Echo ...
Ryan Babel is ready to fight for his place after holding clear-the-air talks with Benitez over comments that were attributed to him in a national newspaper on the morning of Liverpool’s Champions League game in Debrecen last month.

“I am very happy the boss made it clear straight away he had confidence in me and believed that I didn't do the interview,” said Babel.

“I hope people understand. It is easy to read papers and believe it’s true. I was disappointed with the situation.

“But I have spoken to a few of my team-mates. I would never talk about players like that.”

I think I believe the lad on this one , after all who hasn't been misquoted by the rag in question  :(

I still think Babels attitude and overall demeanour speaks volumes as to why he isnt a favourite amongst fans ,but he isn't stupid enough to talk exclusively to that tw@t mag .
