If we lose to Lyon next week, somebody at Liverpool has to be big enough to put Benitez (I never call him by his first name because I just don't like him) out of his misery, like a wounded animal. Trouble is, nobody at the club IS big enough to do the right and sensible thing.

I will support Rafa till the day I die. If he had been given money to spend like Chelsea or Utd that would be different. But he is trying to dislodge a dominant force in Utd and without all the money at his disposal. Some people are so short sighted.

Just lovely. Think long ahead than you nose for a change.

After that 20 million downpayment to Rafa the replacement will still be stuck with Babel ,Voronin, Degen etc.
If you think anything will change for the better no matter which manager we have you are seriously deluded.

I would say Rafa has been making us punching above our weight for some time.
Changing a manager now makes no sense sportswise or financially.

So bored of hearing league title, league title every year now.
For some it doesn't matter if there is no money to buy quality players for a good squad, the league title is always the requirement for any manager  ???

And I say no, Rafa is not properly backed and no new manager will all of a sudden get a big warchest...

If the club isn't healthy how is the team ever going to be healthy?

Mourinho is what best examplifies the ignorans of supporters.
When he is brought forward as the next coming of jesus/manager and our saviour I just don't know weather to cry or laugh.
A manager who has always come to a set table with the club that is most finacially strong in it's national league.
Who manages to win the league after getting hunders of millions to spend.
What an achievement...!
Who wasted enourmous amounts on Thiago, Ferreria, Boularouz, Shevsheko, Mutu, Crespo etc etc but just got more money so no one care cause Chelski won.

Our scenario is totallt different. We need a miracle worker who can make wine out of water and gold out of iron.
Work on a shoestring budget, sell to buy and challenge for the title every damn year.

I rather try for the new Mission Impossible move 4 than as manager of LFC. For gods sake, put your expactations to where the club is today and not 20 years ago!

I do hope that and know the day will come but I never expect it when I have a right to expect it.

Today money is som imorptant in how much quality you can bring to a squad and no willpower, heart etc can fully erase that. You need to invest heavily to be on the train or you will be left at the station.

I think some people here should take a look at the sticky's and remember what means most to some of us  :(
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Of course the league means most, but right now with our financial situation(YES, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT, AND YOU CAN NOT LOOK BEYOND IT) champions league money is what probably has given Rafa any transfer budget at all these last few years.

If we fail in the CL there will be no money(yes, I am sorry but money is once again vital to stay competitive) for transfers and we will have an even weaker squad compared to the reast of the league next season.

Not to look away from the obvious fact that the owners really want that money and they have surely let it be known to Rafa.

Don't try and tell me that we haven't a good enough team to challenge...... because we have. Its about doing whats best for LFC and if Rafa can't get the best out of the team maybe its time we started looking for someone who can. When Rafa came he was chosen because he was supposedly a manager who could win the title WITHOUT spending big money. He couldn't manage that, but he as since HAD big money and we are left with a good team but a very weak squad.

If we are not suddenly going to get showered with money, maybe we should (AT THE END OF THE SEASON) give someone else a go. We have one of the worlds best goalkeepers, one of the worlds best defensive midfielders, THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD and the best striker in the world and yet we can't win games?

Something is going wrong somewhere and imo Rafa makes too many mistakes for a top team like we are.

I guess the quick version is that many are dissapointed and deflated that the league is already over in October and it's all about where to put the blame...

So some say Rafa is inept and some say the owners are inept

We have a good enough first 11, but beyond that we struggle.
