i would like to see pennant on, kuyt has spent most of the game inside and on the odd occasion he has got wide his final ball has been woeful, one cross went straight out, his other cross took two attempts, the first into the defender and the second nearly went for a throw it was so over hit.

give pennant  run out, all our threat has been from the left, we are halving our threat with kuyt on the right.

disclaimer: this is not a slating for kuyt just for the sake of it, this is tactical

yeah gerrard has been the best player out there so far but I think if he wasn't playing so deep we would get better chances up front

We'll win this in the second half. Should be a goal up TBH as we've been cutting them apart down the sides. Yakubu is a dirty, diving, cheating Emile Heskey wannabe c*nt.

I think we may see Keane off early second half with Babel coming on, and maybe Kuyt moving central.

If it's tactical, why would you sub one of our best players on the pitch that half?

gerrards by far our best player.. we lack creativity atm we can go on for hours and not score with our little training passing .. in and around the box we look like a fckin average team... and quite honestly i blame players like kuyt and dossena... we need someone who can get the ball higher up and look dangerous.. riera is the only player we have now and if we can add gerrard to that we'd have 3 .. Gerrard, Torres, Riera..

forget about formations and sht ... keane hasnt done much and the only we he can score if he keeps playing like he is by hitting a long effort the deflects in...

torres seems pretty isolated and while hes done well holding the ball the lack of quality in that right side is so fckin frustrating...

I think we've played pretty well without creating much. One or two players which I've questioned in the past have done very well which is lovely.

I've been impressed with Riera for starters who has mostly done the right things at the right time. I'd just like to see him impose himself a bit more, really ask a question of Hibbert who I'm sure he can terrorise. Only once or twice has Riera gone to ground too easily and looked flimsy, and based on this performance he has a chance to prove me totally wrong and be a good signing.

Skrtel has played well and hasn't switched off once. His body check on yakubu in the area was a bit dodgy, but other than that he has been solid and in particular has headed the ball very well.

Two positives, so in balance I'd have to say that Dossena continues to worry me. I think he's looked slightly better going forward and probably should have recieved the ball off Keane a couple of times, but defensively  ??? That backheader for the corner early doors was schoolboy like.

Gerrard has been the best player on either team by a street, Torres looks to me like he's getting very frustrated and needs to be careful, while Kuyt has run around lots, had a few good touches, and a few awful ones. I'd still consider withdrawing keane (who I think has done Ok to be honest) and bringing on Lucas if he's on the bench, pushing Gerrard in behind Torres and playing 4-5-1. This would help Kuyt out a lot and give us a slightly better shape.

We're going to have to be a little careful tho, we aren't really creating much and should they nick one, it could be a Lee Carsley scenario all over.

why do we have Hyypia Agger AND Aurelio all on the bench. Why no N'Gog or Pacheco. IF we need to make three attacking subs they would have to be pennant, babel ,and Lucas!?!
