a decent mid table player?

you havent even seen him play yet though?

hes blatantly improved since his man city days and has been capped by the euro champions spain

i personally think hell be a good signing, if gollum wants him to he must be ok (gollum spends his money wisely)

Saw him play for espanyol and for spain last season so not judging it just on the spell at city - as for petrov he was always a good play for madrid and was one of their main attacking threats along with torres , heard many people saying we should go for him . Riera is not about being popular etc its about taking the team to the next level and turning us into title winning team ? is that reira ? highly doubt it .

i have seen him play hence why im judging it on his performances last season andhalf season in prem . yeah he got capped for spain when silva was injured as well as capel . so was third choice behind them and didnt make the euros .

I asked me mate (a Man.City season ticket holder) what he thought of Riera.

He said "Albert Riera is not going to take you forward, he was OK at our place but we didnt take up the option to sign him and that was at 3 Million, 12 Million would be a big mistake in my opinion. He will do a job on the left wing but lacks real pace to get past a decent fullback although he has a great shot on him. Your lot have been crying out for width for a few years and not sure why SWP or Queresma (Porto) hasn't interested Rafa?"

so you saw him play for espanyol last season how many times?

cant believe all the negativity around this

we dont have the funds to buy silva or a 25 million winger so why call for that type of quality when we cant afford it

think they were on sky around about 5 or 6 times last season maybe a bit more . people being negative cause they want to see the club take a step forward not stand still and people think this guy will not improve us - heard the phrase "on you tube he looks good " a number of times now - is that how to judge someones full ability ?

Ben Arfa is far better and only cost £9.5 mil. Players are out there just need to look in the right places.

he was at city for half a season hence why i said half a season - then again judging him on that is certainly better than "you tube clips " .

Has he left lyon then ?

even downing is better and prob only a couple mil more .

capel is better and prob get him for 12 mil and i have seen him live and the guy has got bags of pace - trickery guile and talent . so what if they took half a season to get used to the prem they would take us forward as a club thou

where did you see this trckery then ? you have only mentioned you tube and it wasnt when he was at city ?

yes every signing is a risk but sometimes you dont have to take the risk if you can say he isnt going to move the club forward - torres was wanted by every single major club and had already starred during a world cup and had bags and bags of talent that everyone could see . there is different levelks of risk - 20 odd mil for torres was a slight risk . 12 mil for reira is a massive risk - 8 mil not so much - 5 mil and voronin and its a risk you take.

rafa knows this is a key season for premiership progress, he aint gonna make silly transfer choices at this stage

No one is stupid enough to trust any manager one hundred per cent when it comes to signings . and reira isnt rafas first choice so its prob not the player he was thinking to take us to another level but will be one to make us a bit more solid maybe. rafas hands are tied cause of the owners not giving him the big bucks.

Marseille got him for £9.5. When he leaves OM his value will be £15 mil minimum
