1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Ha ha quality!

I too believe that it wont be long before there is movement. Everything appears to have gone a bit quite with H&G having stopped their public feud. I think DIC will be working away in the background, putting a deal together and be ready to pounce some time soon... very soon hopefully.

We live in hope  :help

LIVERPOOL legend Kenny Dalglish has called on the boardroom's warring factions to sort out their differences quickly for the good of the club.

Dalglish, regarded as Liverpool's finest-ever player and who also managed the club between 1985 and 1991, has spoken out as the current crisis over control of the club threatens to rumble on into the summer.

Co-owners Tom Hicks and George GilletADVERTISEMENTt have fallen out now for several months, and Hicks has been searching the financial markets – banks as well as hedge funds – to try to raise the money to buy-out Gillett and fund the new stadium.

Dubai International Capital – the investment arm of the Dubai government – also still retain a long-term interest in a takeover of the club.

Liverpool council gave planning permission on Tuesday for a third re-drawing of the stadium plans, but there is no clear date on when work will start.

And Dalglish claims the potential signings targeted by boss Rafael Benitez will have second thoughts about moving to Anfield while the current situation continues.

Talking in his weekly column for the club's LFC magazine, Dalglish said: "The current impasse cannot continue much longer.

"If you are looking for a positive to extract from the negatives (of the semi-final defeat at Chelsea] then maybe the absence of a final appearance in Moscow will allow all sides in the current boardroom battle to sit down and work out a solution that is best for this football club.

"Players around Europe are starting to look at where they want to play next season, and it is not fair for Rafa Benitez to try to enter negotiations with an arm behind his back.

"On the field we (Liverpool] are an attractive proposition. Off it you would have reservations about coming here while there is still issues to be resolved.

"How does Rafa get the sign-off to go after a player? Who signs it off and who negotiates the deal to a conclusion?"

Dalglish insists Benitez will need the situation resolved quickly if he is to secure the players he needs before the start of next season.

"I hope it is resolved sooner rather than later," Dalglish added.

"Both Tom Hicks and George Gillett declared that Liverpool FC meant more to them than an investment for financial gain.

"Now is the time for them to prove it – blame for the situation we find ourselves in helps no-one.

"All that matters is that we arrive at a workable solution that lets the manager get the bulk of his new players in before pre-season starts."

.............................

Nothing new or spectacular, but he highlights the concerns I have for the summer.

I just hope for this transfer window we can get our business done without any hold ups or disagreements off the pitch, it's absolutely key, and we're almost entirely in the dark over it. We can go a long way to bridge the gap in the league this summer if we can get the right players in, it's an opportunity we can't afford to let go. The bar has been raised significantly already by the Manc's and Chelsea, it could get higher, and we need to get near (and stay near) to the same level of quality pretty soon. The Manc's have a squad which I fear could build a dynasty, that's why we need to get in there and upset the status quo sharpish.

Could it all finaly be coming to an end

BENITEZ DROPS HINT ON BOARDROOM BATTLE
By Paul Walker, PA Sport

Sporting Life

Rafael Benitez has made it clear that he wants Liverpool's owners to "work quickly" in the transfer market as he plans for a summer of upheaval at Anfield.

And the Liverpool boss also claimed that a "final solution" was close in the battle for boardroom control.

Benitez's stance came on the day that he lost first-team coach Alex Miller to a managerial job in Japan, slapped a £15million price tag on Peter Crouch and confirmed that Harry Kewell would be released at the end of the season after rejecting a new contract on less money.

Former Liverpool assistant Sammy Lee, sacked earlier this season as boss of Bolton, is an early front-runner to replace Miller.

Benitez also revealed he had held "private" talks with Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill over Gareth Barry's future - Liverpool had a £10million bid rejected last week - while confirming that he would discuss John Arne Riise's future if a good enough offer was received.

But it is Benitez's proactive stance on the club's future that will raise eyebrows.

He said: "All I can add about the boardroom situation is that I am in contact with both of them (co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett) and we are trying to progress with different issues that we have.

"I do not know exactly everything about shares, but in terms of what is my responsibility, we are progressing and I am doing my job.

"Everybody knows the club needs to be well organised and everybody knows what they have to do. Who will be in charge? Maybe the final solution will be soon."

Benitez added: "We work like I did before. If I have any ideas about signing players I tell them, the owners, and also Rick Parry (chief executive), and if they say yes then we progress.

"Normally I do not ask about difficult things, normally they say yes, both of them say yes.

"I want transfer business to be done as quickly as possible. If you sign a player at the end of July you do not have much time, it is better to sign players as quickly as possible.

"How many we sign depends on the market. We have offers (in) for some players, maybe we can sell as well as buy. I am really pleased and happy with the squad, maybe we need to bring in two or three new players, but if we need to sell then we will buy new players."

Benitez was clearly determined to show he is keeping his side of the bargain struck last month with the owners about the future.

He said: "We are working hard to get closer to our targets. We need to wait but I will try to talk to the owners, I will try to talk with Rick Parry and if we have the green light we will progress with our targets."

And Benitez was also quick to underline his position over Barry, Crouch and Riise.

"Martin O'Neill is clear about the situation and we have agreed to wait until the end of the season," he added.

"He was telling everyone (about our offer), but we are willing to wait and we will try to talk again about the possibilities.

"I was talking privately with Martin before (the offer) and he knows our ideas, clearly.

"Harry has talked with his agent and we were trying to reach an agreement, but we could not get that so he will be released at the end of the season.

"Riise has one year more on his contract. He is not playing at the moment but he knows that if we receive an offer that is good for him and good for us, okay, we will talk.

"But at this moment he is our player. I am really pleased with him because he is a fantastic professional."

On Crouch, Benitez revealed an irritation with the situation, saying: "We offered Peter a new contract.

"Nobody was talking about him when we signed him from Southampton and then everyone was criticising him because he was not scoring goals.

"But I supported him. Now he wants to play every week. We know that Portsmouth are always in the media, talking, every time. But we have had no official offers, just talking.

"But if we receive an offer, £15million or more would be reasonable, I want the best for Crouch and the best for my club.

"I talked to him before and I have talked to him two days ago. He knows my position and I know his position, we are professionals we want the best for each of us.

"But now he is a different player, he is a big name. For the last month we have heard that he wants to play, he wants to leave and that there are other clubs who would like to sign him.

"We will now wait and see whether there are any offers. Then we will talk with him. Clearly we would want a big price."

Igor Zidane wrote:Statement from SOS regarding last night end of season bash and some interesting stuff regarding DIC.

Last night was special - a great occasion and everything Liverpool support is about. A big thank you to the performers and bands, those who organised it, The Olympia and those of you who came. We'd appreciate a bit of discretion about the very special guest and we'd also like to take the opportunity to thank him.

As a result of our ongoing dialogue, we've had it confirmed that Dubai are prepared to put a supporter's representative on the board and have approached SOS to work out exactly how such a thing should be done. We're taking this commitment at face value and expect them to follow up on it if they take control of the football club. We are not doing Dubai's PR for them, but feel obliged to say we've found the dialogue we've had with them to be rewarding and full of possibilities. There is the opportunity to change the way in which our football club is run and the way in which football clubs across the country are run. They may well disappoint us and their words do need to be followed up with actions but to this point those of us who have had discussions have been impressed.

A supporter on the board is a significant responsibility; one which we want but one which will need long consultation, with Dubai, with other agencies but most of all with you, the supporters. What we expect of such a role, how we want it to be defined, how we select it, these are key questions which tap into the bigger question which it is time to start asking: What, in 2008, do we expect of Liverpool FC in terms of how it manages itself off the pitch to compete on it? In the next fortnight we're going to try to start this debate across the forums. We don't think SOS and its management committee has all the answers, but collectively we are capable of answering this question and given the opportunity from Dubai we're capable of having these answers impact upon the football club should it change hands.

Lastly, we've won nothing yet. Hicks and Gillett are still here. We are working on more ways to make clear to the entire world how they've abdicated their responsibilities as custodians. When we have concrete plans we'll tell you how you can help. In the meantime we're listening to any suggestions you have. Let's redouble our efforts over the summer. This football club is the greatest in the land. It's supporters are the greatest in the land. We learnt that yet again last night. We shouldn't be lions led by duplicitious donkeys any longer. Let's change that.

Thank you for your support.

Spirit Of Shankly

thank you igor mate, great reading that & so glad you have
some positive news for us!! please keep everyone up to date with this as i for one really appriciate your feedback & for me
just shows the sos work so far is not in vein, let"s just hope
& pray like you say DIC  really step up their act & put their motions into actions, & put a supporter"s rep on the board
so we can take our football club foward & finally put an end to the yank bu11sh1t behind us. like you say mate we have
won nothing yet but this seems to be a fantastic step in
the only & right direction for our football club.

end of the season, end of alex miller, end of GBJH, maybe the end of these two as owners of our club. (fingers crossed)

anybody else think one of them going would make a difference? should Hicks buy-out Gillett for example, would they benifit us more or hinder us more. I think it'd be a bit of both personally. It would benifit us because it'd be quicker decisions made and the decisions of just one man. I think it would also take our name out of the papers for the wrong reasons, lets be honest Hicks is hardly gonna come out and slag himself off to the press is he? Again for the benifitting side it'd tell us where the blame lies. Some on here blame Hicks, others blame Gillett, others blame Parry and others blame Moores. If it was just Hicks running the club, blame for any off the field antics would fall solely at his door. Right now there's to much confusion going on between who's right and who's wrong.

However I think if Hicks owned the club on his own it would hinder us as well. Where it may be quicker decisions, I think on his own he'd take even longer to do anything about them, come to think of I don't think he could organise a :censored: in a brothel. If he owned the club solely then he'd pick up a much higher amount of bread when he finally sells up. He'd have to cough up enough whack for Benitez to buy the players required and if he can't do that with a partner what chance has he of doing it on his own?

So I really can't see Gillett selling to Hicks being that great for the club overall. Or the other way round for that matter. Both need to go for good for the club to move forward and DIC need to get off their arses and put in a bid the americans can't refuse. If DIC love the club as much as they say they do and have as much money as I'm led to believe then an extra couple of million wouldn't hurt them. If they love the club that much, then they should, like the majority of us, want the americans out so the good name of Liverpool Football Club can once again be envied by all other clubs and we can go back to making the back pages for the right reason e.g. winning the league next season by mid-march. (well we can hope anyway)

What is so sad it seems for at least another year Hicks will just sit and wait until someone agrees to his 1 billion valuation.
He bought the club for 200 million and it seems he is hellbent of getting 5 times that in a span of a year.

Nothing has changed for the better since then to justiy that valuation but it doesn't seem to matter.
And the loaned money to buy players will run out this summer
so until next summer when there is no more money to buy players and time to refinance that 350 million debt once again something might happen.
I fail to see the optimism some have as to why Hicks will sell anytime soon. If he has withstodd anything thrown at him for the past 4 months why would he care for the next year??

Something that makes me totally :censored: off is when I think of last summer and the fact that all the tv money and the money acuired from player sales last season went into that fat :censored: pockets and not one cent spent on the club.
All the players bought came from loans that the new owners sometime in the future has to take over, which will in turn weigh down on the club while Hicks will take his pocketed money and his profits on the sale and walk away into the sunset.

Every morning I dream of reading a headline where that slime
has had an unfortunate accident, because I see no other way for him to leave for at least another year.

Oh Shi.t i post the above and get me hopes up then i read this on the YNWA.TV forum and me heart sinks again

A little hot of the press from a very good reliable source of information. The area of Stanley Park earmarked for the new stadium will be bordered up again for all the test work in to start in august. Once that is done excavation work will start in September and will take approx 8 weeks. Then the main construction work will start in late october/early november. The 1st 60m has been paid for the work to start. This was money earmarked with the loan taken out by Tom and George in January.

With work starting on the 350m stadium it will set to give Tom Hicks a better bargaining position as in terms of a new loan to complete the rest of the build. His bargaining tool with the banks will be he will cover the loan by selling the name rights for the new stadium worth around 300m. The 60m will last around the 1st 10-12 months of the construction which has a fixed price and a fixed time limit.

It seems also that George Gillett has now become resigned to defeat to sell his shares to D.I.C. The contracts that were drawn up by the legal team of Tom Hicks in terms of the partnership allows Tom Hicks full say on who takes over Gillett's 50% should Tom Hicks not be able to agree a price to buy Gillett's share out. Gillett's legal team were in London on Friday night and did have lengthy talks with D.I.C as to regards this. The feeling is now D.I.C will go away now and ask Sheikh Mohammed now to launch a hostile takeover of the club by approaching Tom Hicks with an offer to buy to whole lot of the club. But as Tom Hicks is on the verge of selling his 95% stake in the Texas Rangers back to George Bush (which would be complete on January 11th next year when Bush leaves office) and diluting his 91% stake in the Stars to around 50.1% it seems that Tom Hicks will have the money out right to make George Gillett an offer he can't refuse plus a future percentage dividend plus also funding another 60m 2nd building work installment.

Gillett and Parry's hope that Tom Hicks couldn't raise the money are now appear to be fading. If Gillett refuses to accept the offer then Tom Hicks will use that money to build the stadium from his own pocket and then force Gillett to either match his effort or sell his shares to Hicks for a vastly reduced value. It seems from my source that Hicks has all the aces and the money to either buy the shares and another installment on the build or build the stadium complete of his own personal finance created by the sell of stock and force Gillett to either match it or sell to Hicks.
