No matter that he was bought as a striker and has been an utter failure. Then he get placed out of position just so can play and gets no goals at all.
Something pennant constantly get stick for. He never scores enough for a winger and just gets assists.
But Kuyt?
The goals aren't important for a winger( which kuyt really isn't) as long as you work hard.
When other players mishandle the ball or make plays break down time after time again, they get flogged.
Kuyt?
Sure, he losses the ball and his offensive upside is zero, but
it is ok, cause works hard.
He has gotten chance after chance playing more than most other players, both as striker and winger, and never makes things happen.
Still everyone loves the hard worker.
It is just a matter of time. Way back he did score etc etc.
Who cares if he doesn't do it now.
Great to have vs Chelski and

but what about in a starting role vs Derby, Brum, Reading etc?
Totally worthless again and again making plays break down all the time.
But Kuyt can end this season with 3(2 pens) goals in 35 games and still get 3 goals in 35 games next season and he will still be untouchable.
Yay to mediocrity!
