I can't believe how "un" fired up they are TBPH. It hardly feels like a derby and I fully expect Moyes to absolutely tear them new erseholes at half time. Given that, we'll definately find it harder in the second half and will need a second I reckon.

I think they'll hit Yakubu much quicker and look to get Osman and/or Arteta in and around him, while pushing Peannaar and Neville on and leaving Carsley only infront of the back four. I feel we'll have too much for them and can catch them on the break to kill it off, but I hope we don't live to regret the Kuyt header and Babel chance, at least one of which you feel ought to have been put away.

On a sidenote, I think Skyrtel has been much better but I expect him and Reina will be asked more of a question second half. Alonso did very well for the goal and has passed with perception, but as Saint says there are occasions where he is getting pressured out of it. I expect he will become the main target of Evertons second half push, with probably Osman ensuring he has no time to get his head up whatsoever.

Positives have been Riise (who has been excellent), Geerard and Carragher, while I continue to like Lucas in the little snatchs where he features. Just occasionally he pings a little first time pass around the corner, or plays babel in and you think he's really got something. I remain hopeful he'll prove to be a shrewd buy. Babel unfortunately has been poor so far, which is maddening as he clearly has the beating of Hibbert if he can get his brain to work as fast as his legs.

Good first half though, but it'll be MUCH more physical int he second period i think.

ok... i thought that kuyt is at least getting into more dangerous positions... and a good hussle to get the ball to torres for the goal... riise IMO is better than aurelio right now... we seem to be comfortable at the moment but need to show abit more determination... players like babel, lucas still lacking in something...

Very good first half performance. We're all over them.

Gerrard's distribution, particularly from set-pieces, has been as good as I've seen from him for a while. His shot that hit the post was seriously travelling, and had goal all over it.

Torres looks like he's seen all this before, and he took his goal brilliantly. There's been some great skill and awareness from him, and he's looking more like an all-round striker with every game.

Kuyt has been good, even though his composure in the box hasn't been the best (for a change). He should really have scored from his headed chance from the corner, although I think his volleyed effort came too high for him and a bit quickly. Otherwise a very good performance from him though - he's been everywhere, and has broken up a couple of breaks with really well timed challenges.

Babel has been busy, but similarly wasteful. He's all over Hibbert at right-back, but has been slack in possession.

Alonso still looks lacking, although obviously he contributed to the goal. He just seems well short of fitness to me. Lucas has made some good passes, but at the same time has been a bit slack in possession.

Carra's up for it as usual, and it's good to see him getting forward. Riise too has been very lively, and in fairness it's been one of his brightest games in a while. His cross in to Babel deserved a goal. Some excellent passes up the line too. Not really getting too involved defensively, but in all fairness Sami seems to have that side covered.

Both Hyypia and Skrtel have been a bit hoof-y when they could have been building slowly from the back, but they've looked generally comfortable in there.

And Neville's on a yellow. Always good to see him do his Steptoe gurning in the Derby. :D

Only 1 up though. We've been here before...

Torres is not only doing good as a goal threat, but great passes as well.  One reason I don't want Villa, even Spain doesn't use them together.
