He would be stupid enough to do it really.

As long as the fans keep coming to the matches and keep buying the merchandise , he's not @rsed what players are at the club and if we win or not . He is relying on the fans devotion to the club and to keep spending there pennies. Winning doesn't come into the equation.

This quote speaks volumes, he´s admitting that under current ownership  LFC DOES NOT have appropriate ownership, finance or organisational structure. Isnt that the exact reason why Moores sold out??

Shouldnt Hicks just sell up and move on then - HE is to blame for his own mentioned failings!

He´s totally out of touch with reality.

For me this is the final hurrah for DIC now. Clearly they have found that they can't work together and so that is why the 49% deal is off...call it a committee problem if you like, but they can't work together.

DIC need to come with a ridiculous offer now to get shot of him, or forever hold their peace.

All the way through this, I think Hicks has seen the chance of MAJOR bucks, hence the over-evaluation and living in cloud cuckoo land comments.

Fact is, Hicks has something he KNOWS DIC want (fairly desperately) seeing how many times they have put an offer on the table and he knows what they can pay.

The foreplay is over....they're about to get down to business.

What better way to demonstrate your wealth of expertise as an owner of 'professional sports teams' than by coming out on the eve of one of our most important games of the season with a statement that poses more questions than answers about the future of the club.

Two Questions:

1. How sensitive are sponsers to negative publicity before pulling the plug and finding another club?

2. Having shown DIC the door, will DIC come back with an improved offer or will they take offence (different culture etc..), and if they dont come back is there anyone out there with deep enough pockets to provide the finance we need whilst only accepting a 49% stake. I´m not confident there is another suitor out there bearing in mind the current economic climate. If not, we are paralysed.

BTW, did you notice that Hicks communicated the deal was off even though DIC were negotiating Gilletts shares? Is Gillett really just Hicks´rent boy?

Not so sure about this. I think this refers more to the fact that he and Gillette no longer have a working relationship.

He wants Gillettes share, but DIC have offered more and probably won't sell to him anymore with a better on the table. So he has to look around and see what other options are available to him, can he find more cash to match the DIC offer for the 49% or is there someone else stupid enough to get in the middle of all of this, just to own a minority share.

The statement is the equivalent of Eddie in Bottom shouting 'Hi girls, come and get it!' then wiggling his ars3 at the camera. Hardly an attractive option.

I really think a lot of people are too quick to judge this situation. I cannot imagine how all of this is endearing Hicks to anyone in the business world as a partner and investor. He's losing options by the day and looking more and more the PR disaster.

Does this help LFC, no, it's a disgrace that we're embroiled in this at all and no doubt it will take a while to get over it, but get over it we will.

It feels like every time we get back to talking about the football, he pops up with something unsettling. Again, the timing of this latest twist is ill-timed.

I've said it here before - this season has been like a boardroom-based soap opera with football in the ad breaks. It's f*cking madness.

What I find odd is the conspicuous absence of Gillett in all of this.

It was he who headed the deal to takeover the club in the very beginning, Hicks didn't even enter the equation.

Gillett came back with Hicks on a second occasion, he was effectively a tag along who apparently had enough financial clout to make up for what Gillett didn't.

Now it's the tag along who's having the greater say in determining the future of the club.

Sounds kind of strange since our government is supposed to be about balancing three different branches, but it is definitely true

Statement from SOS. Ripped from Rawk

Tom Hicks has broken off talks with DIC because their leadership style would not be in the interests of: "Kop [Holdings], of the Club, or of the Club's loyal and passionate supporters."

Let's look at this. Why does Mr Hicks put Kop Holdings first? Doesn't this reveal exactly where his priorities lie? How many times do the man's priorities have to be revealed to us? It's wonderful of him to emphasise what we already know. The interests of Kop Holdings and Liverpool Football Club are not one and the same. Kop Holdings needs Liverpool to come fourth every year and get a stadium built and then it makes a billion pound return without ever investing a penny. Liverpool Football Club demands greatness. Liverpool Football Club should be the jewel in the crown. Not another stepping stone for an obscenely rich man to make more money he doesn't need.

Mr Hicks is remarkably presumptuous if he feels he knows what's best for Liverpool Football Club and its supporters. The very supporters who distrust him entirely. The very supporters who have made their feelings known again and again what's best for them.

Mr Hicks should listen to Liverpool's supporters. They've repeatedly tried to tell him what's best for this club. On the whole it can be summed up as follows:

What's best for this football club isn't being in exactly the same position as we were fourteen months ago but with £350m of debt.

What's best for the football club and its supporters is that the man who has publicly stated he'll siphon Liverpool's money off to his other sports teams, hasn't pledged to buy the club one way and then do the opposite, has promised stadia yet has failed to raise the money and still hasn't started digging, has offered the manager's job to a total novice in club management terms – how exactly was that in the club's best interests Tom? - and then discussed such a foolish move in public, leaves and never, ever, ever comes back.

What's best for Liverpool Football Club is that the man who has dragged this footballing institution through the mud, who has classlessly tarnished the family silver, who has shown such disdain and disrespect to the very supporters he now claims to act in the interest of accepts the healthy profit he has been offered and shuts the door behind him.

How many times do we have to tell him he doesn't know what's best for LFC? He doesn't know what's best for the supporters? Well, let's keep telling him and let's tell him louder.

Before the Reading game. 15th March. The Olympia. Noon. Let's tell him again there and then let's tell him outside the ground and then let's tell him inside the ground and keep telling him and the world that he doesn't know best. Only when he steps through the exit door will he have shown any intelligence, any class and any understanding of what Liverpool's supporters want.

One way or another, on the 15th of March, let your voice be heard.

Well the good news is that Hicks has found a new investor.

The bad news is that it's Barings Bank.

I think at this point it'd be nice just to give a mention to the organisers of this wonderful situation:-

DAVID MOORES
&
RICK 'COCO' PARRY

Who can forget these words just in the press just 13 months ago, "TRUST US"

I did feel the anger towards Moores originally was a bit unfair but now when you think about his nice £80m profit he has to snuggle up with at night and Coco has his nice shiny new Ferrari to comfort him you realise how much they've fucked the club over.
The following quote really does make me wonder if Parry is some sort of Hicks trained bullshit artist:
“Be assured the only thing David Moores is concerned about is the club being in the right hands for the future. You can be certain he has done his homework carefully and will make a decision in the best interests of the club. The fans have trusted David to do the right thing in the past and can be sure that’s what he’s doing now. If they thought the Dubai bid was good, rest assured he is now considering a different course for the right reasons.”

I'll let you all stew on that one for a bit!!
