we have been hit hard this season by the fact that babel was brought in instead of buying a first team winger

fair enough if he starts babel (i like babel)

he doesnt start him though

so that 11 million has been wasted.

Everton have drawn 0-0

Man City jump above us.

We are now in 7th position.

Two points above Blackburn and three points above Pompey

I'd like to see Rafa given to the end of the season, but 4th place is looking like a real struggle, and 4th place will also bring a tougher CL qualification match for next season.

I think, and I've said this before, if we can get Mourinho at the end of the season, we should go ahead and get him.

Inter Milan could very well be the final verdict. If we lose, I think could be over for Rafa.

i would not want to say the teams that have been picked by rafa are the worst line ups ever, and today i thought the players on show would put up a performance; but what we got is just embarassing. the players have a to the manager, to us the supporters who pay their wages and most importantly to themselves. i dare any of the lot today to look honestly in the mirror and say i did my best today; if any would be satisfied with the performance at upton park then they should know that he does not deserve to wear the liverpool jersey. but looking at the past 7 games it becomes apparent that the manager somewhere has a great input into this demise. yes rafa is a great manager, but with his personality and that of hicks it is apparent that the eventual loser will be liverpool fc. i will not see him having the influence that he would want inorder for his ideas to flourish and this will have a bearing on the performance of the team. i hope something will give and we dont end up with no trophy and failing to qualify for the champions league

Fine at least sub out kuyt and put in babel in that position but nooo kuyt have to play 90min , can't benitez see how terrible kuyt is , i'm sorry can't bare to watch him play again ...... and harry kewell has lost it , injuries has taken a toll on him even alonso looked out of ideas.. things are not going well at the moment

Its not fair to single out Kuyt lad!

The whole team were as bad as eachother

But to be fair, the others have played well in other games this season, has Kuyt ?

If the others had played as well as they should have mate we would not be 7th in the league behind Villa Everton and Man City!

What age is Babel, and how long is his contract again?

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

his players, his tactics, he motivates

one game you can put it down to the players

but we have been awful for ages, we play ugly football and that is down to rafa and his tactics

Not only that, but we are possible the most predictable team around.

yes and thats why we are easy to stop.  our attacks to me are just hopeful attempts hoping something will happen or the opposition will make a mistake.  There is nothing there which makes things happen.

i just wonder what the pro rafa fans will say

they will say its all the yanks fault.  The interview should be funny.  No doubt rafa will say we controlled the game but missed chances.

Explain to us all right now what Rafa done wrong today, then. He made all the right subs at the right time. Fielded an initially decent team. What else could he have done apart from starting Crouch up front? Our players were just sh*t. Gerrard was sh*t. Alonso was sh*t. Kewell was disgraceful. Torres was w@nk today. Carra gave away a pen.

Now, you come on and tell me that those players above are all poor players and aren't good enough for this club. I dare anyone to  say it. They won't because it's not true. Fact is, none of our big guns have been playing anywhere near their best lately. I wonder why.

eer he picks the team and tells them how to play, making poor subs, not starting with the right players.

if we win the game we say he gets it right so when we dont are you saying we can not say he got it wrong??

Who aren't the right players? Gerrard? Torres? Alonso? Carragher? Who? We'd enough quality out there to win. End of.

not when Gerrard gets told to play deep for 60 mins. Crouch should have started, you play your goal getters not the ones that have :censored: all for most of the year.

yeah i agree BUT

by signing him and not playing him that money could have been spent on someone who plays first team because our wingers are useless

fair enough planning for the future but the present is more important as we havent challenged for the title in years

All you people who are sticking up for Rafa, really WHY? It's his job to motivate the players ffs. If they're playing :censored: then he should sort them out. Simple fact is he needs to go, his cup form etc. may be decent but his league form is terrible.
