So yes, Mr. Hicks, you gave away $24 million for practically nothing when you signed Juan Gonzalez, but that's hardly the worst thing you've ever presided over as the head of the Texas Rangers. This list could probably have been longer before we even reached the Gonzalez signing. It's nice that you're angry with Gonzalez for being constantly hurt, but your anger is a bit misplaced. Let us suggest a target for your ire: yourself

He is clearly bemused by my line of questioning. Is the recent poor performance by Hicks' private equity firm -- Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst -- connected in any way to the poor performance of his sports teams, the Dallas Stars and the Texas Rangers?

"The mistake the media and the analysts all make is trying to connect the dots," Hicks tells me. "The two have nothing to do with one another."

"Except that you're in charge of both of them," I reply.

All of these teams have become businesses in the past 20 years,” Hicks said. ” … This business has to do with fan affinity and brand devotion. It doesn’t necessarily have to do with winning.”

The mind boggles , do people really think that this redneck is good for our club, do people seriously think he has the best interests of our club at heart ,the fella's here to make a fast buck and he's gonna one way or another. I really hope that his bumchum gillett does see the light and sell his shares to DIC and we can get this leech away from our club. Custodians of the club my @rse .

I want to see the likes of kaka, Eto and Messi play for Liverpool not fuckin Gary Speed and Ivan Campo.

I'd rather LFC sink into oblivion than share a ground with Kirkby FC.

That is also a worrying part besides all the rest already "known stuff"

Looking back at Hicks track record, I am not at all sure we will ever have a stadium built. A lot of talk but no action is all I've seen so far.

Not shiney enough for my likeing saint, and there's not enough glass on the exterior :;): The window cleaner in the stanley park area would be mortified at that stadium , what were they thinking of , his family would have starved. Anyway i heard on the qt that he personally ratified the HKS proposal. By the way the window cleaners name is joey hicks , coincedence , i think so.

Why is it that the rejected firm can have 8 new pics on their website yet HKS still only have the 3 original pics on theirs?! ???

To be honest, right now I'd be happy with either stadium. I've got to say though, considering both firms were told to revise their plans AFL put a lot of effort in. I get the feeling HKS submitted the same design with a note to THicks saying "we're from your beloved Dallas, pick us big boy and we'll scam millions together".

The way i see it the most important person in this is Rafa, they fear him because he acturly cares for the club but he's also the link between the club and the fans they kno this and thats why everytime Hicks opens his mouth since crimbo its been to say how behind him he is. Lose Rafa and its all over, in comes their (yes) man out goes our best players.Rafa's the last fan in a position of power we need him no one else would get money. Lose him and no ones working for us anymore theyd be working for him.

We have to hit them where it hurts and and we do that by giving them less money.

That wont hurt them as much as it hurts the team, it would just give them an excuse to do as they will and make Rafa's hand weaker. Where's there's Rafa there's hope.
