I thought this was a discussion on Kuyt, who I wouldn't mind although not a neccessaity, not a slanging match about the 65 cup final.

Umm, the 65 cup final was mentioned in 2 posts, the question and the answer.. how is that a slanging match about the cup final?

St John was a great player for us. Him and Hunt one of our best partnerships up front.

Okay, mate, let's do an exercise. Name as many strikers as you can who were top performers in Serie A and who have moved to the Premiership and done the business (as you think DT would). Then do the same thing with the Dutch Eridvisie (or whatever it's called! ) and the Prem. Then we can talk about which league is likely to provide strikers who will adapt well to the Premiership.

Italy
Vialli - did OK
Ravenelli - did great (Liverpool later tried to sign him)
Paulo Di Cannio - Did well
Carbone - Did ok
Thierry Henry - failure in Italy success over here
Zola - Did great
Maccarone - Done poorly

Holland

Van Nistelroy - did great
Dennis Bergkamp - did great
Van Persie - Doing OK
Kezman - Did poorly

In my opinion coming from a particular league is no guarantee of success or failure in the EPL. Coming from the EPL however does help.
Kuit is a hard working player who would be a good asset to Liverpool even when he his not scoring(from what little I have seen). Trezerguet is lazy player who will score goals but offers little else.
Kuit worried me with his non-performances in the world cup but his hard work, strong running and goal record in Holland lead me to believe he will be a success in the EPL. He still reminds me of Roger Hunt with his playing style and off the ball runs. Strong with a great right foot working hard for the team yet still scoring lots of goals.
BTW we do need another striker and Kuit would probably be as good as any (that we can afford anyway) So tell Rafa to go ahead and buy him.

Here are my thoughts on the upcoming fight.

I still think Bad Bob's a more physical poster.

He gets his facts right and his English is not too shabby. His posts are straight to the point and clear and concise. Though, I think the aggression part that is so critical to many successful posters is lacking in him. It is ironic, if you can remember that Good Bob was actually a "Badder Bob" than Bad Bob himself.

Maybe a little bit more taunting? But it still remains to be seen if Billy's over-aggressive nature may eventually lead to the more fragile Bad Bob to crack under the barrage of challenges and cry in defeat.

Billy on the other hand is an unproven poster. His grammar is decent, so is his spelling but his lack of charisma and a bit of football knowledge has let him down in his recent debates. But he does know his football history. Something that Bad Bob has yet to show.

The outcome of this match is very hard to call indeed. Though, results of past bouts may put Bad Bob in a marginal favor, one always cannot count on the arrival of a newbie who may actually know what the hell he's talking about. Or so he claims.

But I guess, the nature of the topic would obviously come into play. Suggestions anyone??
