15m is a bit steep for a player who is solid and in his last year of his contract

I live in newcastle and I've heard nothing on the subject from Geordie sources, in fact they're still optimistic about him staying, though they fear a big club will come in and take him away. One of my friends said he'd go to a big club, not another mediocre one, with regards to him joining us. Yep, thats what I put up with people

another thing, remember the figures being banded about for some players in January on deadline day? I remember a ridiculous figure tagged onto Micah Richards and I was sh!tting myself at the prospect of spending that much on him (cant remember how much it was now). I think £15m is a bit much to spend on Enrique tbh, I hope our owners don't go around spending such figures, we'll end up shooitng ourselves in the foot and end up paying way over the top for many of our targets

15 is way steep... We spend that much I want Baines. Not quite as strong defensively, but better than Ashley Cole at going forward.

I agree with Ethanr, for that price would much rather see us go for Baines. 11 assists so far this season, and also very solid defensively. Local lad as well which certainly doesn't hurt.

I admit that the post looks lazy but I was running on a tight schedule and had no time to write my input - until now - but I decided to share the link ith you lot anyway and come back to read and write on it later when I had another chance to get online!

I think he will be a good purchase but not for that price!! Then again I am sure we were all shocked at the crazy £ that we spent on Glen Johnson!!

While we are talking about defenders I was wondering what you guys think of Danny Wilson? I personally think he has class and why KK played the calamity greek before Danny I don't know.

Anyone care to share their thoughts?

Forget about neil he is the robbie savage of newkit

Wilson is NOT a left back, he doesn't have what it takes to play there, he doesn't have the ability to play there and he looks so poor in that position. His best position is center back and I would like to see him play more there. I don't know if he will be good enough, but early signs are not encouraging enough

Hi Metalhead. I was never meaning for Wilson to be a left back but was just saying I think he should be given the nod ahead of big Styrios when we were/are needing someone to fill the CB role.
